If I'm already going 80 and your ass pulls right up behind me and is aggressively trying to get me to move over I have a hard time willingly doing so. Gentle tap on my brakes, slowing to the actual speed limit all those things are ways I may say SLOW THE FUCK DOWN.

If the middle lane is open and I'm not going fast you're damn right I will get over if someone wishes to pass me. Hell I usually stay in that lane if there's no reason or no one to pass.

If traffic is clogged and someone in the left lane is going 45 I will be on their ass. It seems to be one side of the extreme that pisses me off. However my road rage pisses them off and they return fire they aren't passive like the drivers in Raleigh.

It's amazing how many people can't drive the speed limit, or feel the need to run a red light, or drive on the wrong side of the road, or pull out in front of you too dangerously close, or generally not know how to drive.

Anyone who has ridden with me knows I'm crazy when it comes to other drivers. Must be that New York thing.

Addendum to the topic: Regular headlights will do just fine; Turning on your hazard lights only makes you look like a bigger idiot.

Looking forward to the ride home. Cars without headlights and people that feel like the max speed they can attain is 45 mph when the pavement is wet. I'm also sure to see the 'dork in the fast lane driving the exact same speed as the idiot going 45mph in the right lane' and the 'I'm in the left lane and I hit my breaks when anyone in the right lane hits theirs.' Sigh.

FYI, this is also a traffic violation in Raleigh. You can't use the horn unless you're in immediate danger and also need to brake, or some bullshit like that.

last year, I was going ~60 in a 45 (like normal...and you won't get pulled for it on this stretch, even though it's fuzz central) and it was raining. light turned yellow, i braked, but hydroplaned, and there were three cops at that intersection. I was more than halfway through the intersection before I came to a stop, even though i'd started braking way early.

I backed up (w00t for no one behind me), and waited for one of them to come get me.

They didn't. I think that had I not had my lights on, they probably would have, but lights on signalled to them 'hey, it's a semi-responsible driver, and we should assume the hydroplaning was unavoidable'
