somebody talked about the trees but im beggining to wonder if they EVER had sunny days back then. every old picture seemed to be taken on a gray day and when did they start using red clay bricks? did they rebrick all the buildings at oen point?

no flowers trees or anything in the old pictures. just dead greass i guess because of all the cloudy days. it looked like a nuclear holocaust back then.

Brilliant work, Pyro.

I always thought the Campus Traditions page was cool, but lame that they didn't bother to take pictures that would match up...your pics and the slider/fade function are fantastic.

I took more photos today, some of them good, I'll post them later. There are just too many trees on campus. Should be easier to get shots in the winter.

A better camera with a half dozen different lenses wouldn't hurt either.

Wow, what a cool site. pictures and the slide bar are awesome.. One suggestion though...How about putting the pics as thumbnails instead of numbers...

Yea man, do that if you get a chance, I'm not sure I know what you mean. If I was photoshopping these for public display I'd probably chop out the sky and such so objects in the foreground really looked like they were floating in place.

awesome. can't wait to see more.

one suggestion that is probably impossible or at least very unlikely is if you could find multiple pictures from the same location and lay them overtop of one another. so instead of 2 (1919 and 2006) you have a few more (1919, 1947, 1982, 2006). i'm sure that would be very hard to locate older pictures with the same view.

very cool though.

Pretty much impossible. I'm actually trying to stand in the same place, yet for every photo I post here I'm trashing a dozen that don't line up worth a damn, even after some massaging with photochop.

^^I like the idea of switching to all black and white. I think many people see old B&W photos and then immediately associate it with the creepy past, rather than seeing the subjects as people just like them that are walking in the exact same places and doing the exact same things.

^Willie hears ya, willie doesn't care.
(Actually, willie probably doesn't know enough javascript to actually fix it, but he'll give it a shot.)

Holy shit. I just checked and my site used up 200gigs of bandwidth in less than a week. The photos average about 150kb a piece. In other words, that's ALOT of hits. I shut things down until I figure out how much this is going to cost me.

I don't blame you guys, I think this is probably the problem:
