well if garrard is shortly benched again like you seem to think will happen, then why not? good when healthy linebacker for a 2nd string QB?
you're arguing in circles or something like that

not sold on Garrard yet, but i would definitely take Leftwich over Delhomme.
JD spazzes out too much. when Smitty was out, if he got pressured he would throw it to Smitty's slot out of habit and the receiver usually couldn't make the catch. sometimes Carter would make the tough catch. and he still underutilizes Keyshawn too.
if JD had any less heart, or was a softass who got bitchsacked all the time like Bledsoe and Pennington, i would be a hater too. he plays as tough as he can (sometimes that's what causes the spazzed out throws) - that's probably why most people like him too, and probably why players respond to him. 11/6/2006 10:26:58 PM |

^agreed. I like Jake because he's fucking fearless. The reasons we lose games with jake have resulted in wins more times than not. The guy might throw a pick, but it doesnt' phase him. He's right back slingin the next time in. That might fuck him over sometimes and yes, he throws a few picks from time to time, but I like knowing that I've got a guy out there that is going to try to make plays and isn't going to fold just because he made a couple bad decisions. Are there better QBs out there? sure. But I think Jake fits the carolina team personality.
That said, I'm all for DGarrard starting. Long time coming imo. 11/6/2006 10:50:43 PM |

garrard is for real. he was good in college too, he just had really shitty receivers to throw to. 11/6/2006 11:21:29 PM |

^ Agreed, I don't know what's happened this year but he hasn't been the same player he was last year, atleast not on a conistent basis. 11/7/2006 12:36:15 AM |

Lefty is not a good QB. He has hardly had a stellar year during his career. Yes he had some good seasons but nothing amazing. DG comes in and makes the Offense look like a well oiled machine. Byron barely can get in the red zone weekly.
I would not take Byron over Delhomme...DG is pretty much on the verge of taking over Byron's position and showing the Lefty is not as good as people thought.
