yeah, he has a perfect build. good size. great athleticism (very dahntay joneslike). im personally very interested to watch lance thomas. hes the type of athlete (playing the 3/4) that duke hasnt had in a long time. offensively he might not set the world on fire but he will rebound and be able to guard guys like al thornton, etc. 11/7/2006 4:10:46 AM |

anyone that thinks duke will fall out of the top 25 is retarded. they were pretty solid the other night against shaw. granted, shaw sucks, but scheyer and zoubek are going to be great freshman for duke. they will probably still get a 3 or a 4 spot in the tournament 11/7/2006 10:58:45 AM |

you guys are insane. the beat goes on at Duke. This team will be very good. sure, it won't hold the #1 ranking for the majority of thel year but that doesn't mean it will suck.
And you gotta mention Nelson's shooting. The guy was slowed last year with the injury but this will be a huge year for him. Didnt he shoot over 40% 3s last year? 11/7/2006 11:09:35 AM |

Yep. No one is saying Duke will be bad, I don't think, and I think Duke will always get a few throwaway votes. Regardless, Duke will be on the high end of mediocre this year. Maybe a #4-#5 ACC finish but at least 2 or 3 conference games out of #1-#2.

At least 1 of the UNC games, probably both. 1 from @GA Tech, FSU @ BC
And perhaps one super-duper upset (UVA? Maryland? NCSU?).
It's gonna be bumpy. 11/7/2006 3:43:27 PM |

No way in hell Duke doesn't finish top 2 in the acc. Unc will be hard to beat out for #1 but it is a good possibility.

so a team like tech that has just as many if not more of the same question marks that duke has is better than them? yes, they brought in quite a bit of talent, but it wasnt that much more significant than dukes. and also, if you think that fsu is going to bring the same effort against state or clemson or virginia that they do against duke, you are just plain wrong. fsu always plays duke tough and then comes back to reality against other teams.11/8/2006 12:17:54 AM |

i just stated their losses, not what they had on their team the question marks or whoever they would lose to or anything like that
the question was presented, i answered. 11/8/2006 12:25:06 AM |

well the actual question was what 3 or 4 teams are so much better than duke that they will finish 4th or 5th in the conference, not how many losses 11/8/2006 12:34:55 AM |

actually he is very un-battier like. hes kind of slender, not as built as shane. much better athlete all the way around. will not be as good a shooter as battier. 11/8/2006 12:39:59 AM |

how am i skewing the conversation, i said what 3 or 4 teams are going to be that much better than duke that they finish 4th or 5th in the conference? you responded by telling me they will lose to bc, fsu, unc, and tech. doesnt prove or attempt to prove how duke settles in 5 out of those 5 teams. 11/8/2006 12:46:21 AM |

omfg! dukes not gonna be that good. they might have 4-5 acc losses! duke finished 11-5 in the acc in 2005 and finished #3 in the ap poll. anyone who thinks they will finish 4th or 5th in the acc is obviously smoking crack. i would bet on them finishing second and definitely no worse than 3rd. imo, they will be top 10 by the end of the season. 11/8/2006 5:32:53 AM |
