I think if we knew 100% that he was fired, he could have walked off the field to at least some cheers
hell, maybe our football team would have come out and played better saturday
he deserves that from us, no matter how badly I wanted him fired for his performance
he is still one of us, no matter how bad they played his contract was hardly bloated, it may be for the product we got, but he isn't even in the upper half of pay in this conference alone
as for gear and championships... maybe someone in teh AD can get the pieces in palce for us, we have some of the nicest facilities in the country (that the fans paid for)
^^, ^ big deal I stated my opinion... didn't say i could do better, just said they could
I'm not a plastic surgeon but I'm pretty sure I could tell a shitty nose job if I saw one

but our SID is horrible, our marketing and PR is horrible
we're capable of better, but no one strives for it
I grew up a state fan, I was going to games at reynolds and CFS as an infant, I've seen how much is changed, and we've gone uphill... but we are capable of being so much more" |

Wake football had better apparel (and more variety) at the beginning of this season than State.
I've looked in stores in Winston, Greensboro, and Raleigh and can't find shit for State stuff that I'd wear.
Has nothing to do with us winning more, it's about the crappy contracts we've signed.12/1/2006 4:21:34 PM |

Thats not my point. All of these things are events that happened in the past year or even more recently. Its the fact that every time we have a chance to do something positive for the university, we somehow overlook the simple things (Sidney at football game) that would really help out, then we screw up simple stuff like scheduling a fooball game during the state fair...I thought about it at the time...it would have required 3 teams to change two weeks worth of games to get that game moved to the next weekend...and I know we must have some input on stuff like that if its going to be that simple.
All I'm saying is that we screw up too many simple situations that would give us either better recognition or please our fans a little more.
I know the tailgating thing wasnt the doing of athletics but NCSU dropped the ball on that issue too. Whats the best way to discourage underage drinking and stupid/dangerous behavior before a football game? Either stop tailgating completely or have MORE UNIFORMED OFFICERS AROUND. I have a friend that went to tailgate at Auburn (or somewhere down there...maybe alabama) that said they tailgate all friggin day before the game and the student section is always full an hour before kickoff. Whats the difference? You cant walk 10 yards without seeing another police officer. Nobody acts stupid, and its safe and fun. I know this conversation is about SID and PR, but its an institutional problem when we cant fix the people in charge.

Apparently many of you are unaware of who is in charge of things. The athletic department has no control of the changing of the Block S that was the University Licensing Department, which is also in charge of the gear or lack of in stores not the Athletic Department. 12/1/2006 10:49:46 PM |
