there are not people at airports scanning passports - even if there were people doing such - the information they scanned is useless unless they hack into the system that has the database that stores what the random tag information that was scanned correlates to and decrypts it...

I'm not getting one at all now or at least for this, our boat already is covered as long as I don't leave the resort

I don't really care to leave there anyway, we're gonna be at sea most of the time anyway

I probably should look into getting one anyway though, some friends of mine have some trips planned and want me to come along already

I just got mine while I was in DC last summer. I made an appointment for like 8am, when in with all my stuff, paid all the stuff (with all the fees the total was $157), and had mine by 1:30pm. I then took the bus back to raleigh and flew to Newfoundland the next morning at 6am using said passport.

I sent in my application a month ago for my trip in june, for some reason my mom's took 5 months so shes really cautious about it now.
