The Panthers are a very good team(a 10-2 team), they could easily make another run in the playoffs IF they get there. Hopefully Weinke will act as a stabilizer and help them keep things under control when they get to the 4th quarter. I really think that if he plays well this weekend he might be able to keep the job, for the remainder of the season at least.

Well Weinke played fine today but the same problems plagued us for the 90th time this year.

We cant stop the run. We cant get pressure on the QB. We cant catch the ball.

Bad football team. Lets hope for a good draft/offseason

Chris Weinke threw for more yards in this game than Stone did all season.

He didnt suck at all.

Dropped passes hurt a lot. The two INT's he threw that were bad came when we were already down 17.

It was definitely a good showing for a guy who hasnt started in 4 years.

^^Yeah, when you throw the ball 61 times you're going to get a lot of yards. Keep in mind also that he threw against one of the most porous secondaries in the NFL. If anyone honestly thinks he brings a better game at QB than Delhomme, you're just not thinking clearly.

i want troy smith or jamarcus russell

we figure to have a pick in the teens

smith is great as we know but his height may cause him to slip

russell can throw the ball 90 yards--no more lame duck jake-style lobs

russell is the leftwich-peete rare black qb who is slow, but he's huge, like 6 foot 6, 260, so sneaks should be a lot more efficient

i think that before we trade up to take a qb #1, we need to take a good look at some db's that can keep up with the opposing team's receivers

^there was a play yesterday, where Manning threw to the outside....you could see that Minter jumped the route, it looked like he would pick it and take it to the house, but then he started moving in so-mo....he didn't even get a hand on the ball, and it went for a first down.

I was like .... He is way to slow to still be out there.

They don't even have to trade up to get the best QB. If they lose these last 4 games they might pick around 10 or higher.

Brian Brohm is the best college QB, I know Ive said this a lot, but kid is for real. I would love for Carolina to pick him. He should be available if he comes out around 10-15 picks.

Funny, you had Stefan LeFors, who was just as good and also a product of Louisville, and you did jack shit with him.

Just go get him back.

they should just start grooming Basanez to start next year, and use the draft to focus on other areas.

Look here's the deal.

We've got Steve Smith and Julius Peppers in their motherfucking primes.

NFL players sometimes have a short shelf life.

Let's build up a team that can compete for the championship NOW. This is not the time to go fucking around with some QB that might take 2-3 years to learn the position and may suck dick even after a few seasons.

Im fine going with Delhomme. Tell him to get his head out of his ass there is plenty of talent around to win with him.

Use the draft to get a stud on defense. We have to start stopping the fucking run. It'd be nice if we had an LB capable of blitzing the QB every once in awhile. It'd be cool if we could pick up an offensive lineman who could run block. It would be swell if we had a TE capable of catching a pass.

We haven't gotten great QB play this year but its not like there are just great QB's floating around for anyone to pick up. We wasted a bunch of cap room on Delhomme and it'd be foolish not to play him. Use the $ on someone that can help us win football games dammit.

last year's big complaint was getting another wide reciever, we got keyshaun
but then our O-Line and linebackers just disappeared
now if we get that straightened out and delhomme healthy , we just may be going back to the SB again

they threw an ass load of texa$$ at hartwig and his groin explodes.....

they stacked the roster with LB's during the preseason to ensure that they had people at the position (2 of the starting spots were already pretty much locked up with Davis and Morgan)

sometimes it's just not meant to be.....It's clear that the spark just isn't there pretty much every time they take the field this year.

I would say that their top priority next year needs to be a hard hitting saftey or a big quick durable LB.

Was there. Weinke did not play bad at all. I was surprised. Most of the INT's were when we were already getting killed. Hard to do well when the other team KNOWS your going to pass, even if they supposedly have a crappy secondary. I think 34 for 61 and a panther team record of 4oo plus is good. Now if we had held them off at the end of the 2nd qrt and it was tied at half who knows what would have happened. I am scared the steelers are going to kill us this weekend. However IF we win we are right back into it. I can't keep going to charlotte having all this fun all for it to end with heartbreak by about 4pm each week...

Anyone in the Panthers front office who thought Dan Morgan was going to play more than 3 games this season should be fired on the spot.
