I drove one of these (Pontiac) at the carmax when I was looking at the Audi's. Not bad build quality by GM standards, only had like 5,000 miles on it, so it wasn't worn out yet.

That being said, it wasn't even up to par with the TT I drove that day, and nowhere close to the Porsche. But, they are very reasonably priced, and I imagine they will hold their values ok, especially compared to other american cars. They are cool looking though, and for now, you don't see many on the roads.

i started that thread becaus in my opinion the car looks sexy as hell. i did not mention anything about performance. boxter can slap it around the track quite possibly, but IMOdoes not have the visual appeal of one. boxer owners get grief cause everyone likes to pick on the poorsches, not cause they dont look or dont perform.

i wouldtn call it a clan, everyone on here has his own opinion. this boxter bashing might be a coinsidence. or it might be realted to the fact that most people on here are straight

I've got to say after seeing some numbers I'm disappointed with the Sky Red Line. High 5s for 0-60? Thats ridiculous it should low fives.

From pics I saw beforehand I liked the Sky better. After seeing both in person I prefer the Solstice.

However, as far as ever wanting one:
Miata > base Solstice/Sky in pretty much every way.
and
S2000 > GXP/Red Line in pretty much every way.

The big turnoffs for me besides performance are the really cheap interiors and the fact that storage space is nill. I know you can't fit a lot of room in an S2000 or Miata, but they still have around double the capacity of the GM twins.

But major props to GM for going through with this.

^^Sorry just everything I've read about that car says its pretty low in class. Yes the engine's solid but build quality, resale, handling, and interior design is lacking compared to its competition.

And no, your car doesn't have more power than mine. And while I still have my car, it spends 75% of the year in a garage 45-700 miles away from me not being used. I would have upgraded a while ago if I didn't live in NYC and had no need for a car.

And to counter you, my engine dynoed 145whp stock (which equals 170hp). And I would be willing to bet the CAI, header, and exhaust added at least another 5 but I never dynoed it. If you want to split hairs...

No hard feelings-it is like Prime First said, every has their own opinion about other peoples' cars.

My car (2007) was the first year to get the new non-go cart steering wheel. And the gauges being in the middle does not bother me. I kind of like it at night because you can look straight ahead without bright lights in your face.
