I just saw the muslim rep on CNN. He actually brought up some good points. He's a very filtered-down version muslim though, kinda like OJ back in the day....but good points none the less.

I bet Sweden still has a much lower rape rate than the US does. Especially if you count all the people raped in US prisons (and you should).

Immigration pretty much has nothing to do with Goode's problems.

He's an idiot for getting so bent out of shape because someone else is a different religion than him.

Quote :
" ^^ So world peace and good will towards others is disgusting?

You people..."

That's not the issue. It's not that people hate peace and good will, it's that those are meaningless platitudes that do nothing to address the problems of the world. And it's idiotic to suggest that "spreading Christianity" would solve anything, because that's ALSO not going to help anyone (and would probably cause MORE problems).

And the crime problems Sweden is having is more of an economic issue than a cultural issue with Muslims.

Being a Muslim is NOT a factor in causing someone to become a rapist. Denying someone entry in to the US on the grounds that they are Muslim and they will increase rapes is completely idiotic. Only a dumbass racist asshole could suggest something like that.

^^^ Why is it stupid to spread Christianity? Because you don't believe in it? Wow, how openminded of you. How does the message of world peace and good will towards others an idiotic concept?

There are plenty of reasons to deny muslims access to this country. Sweden is merely one example. How about the recent London bombings? Muslims run amuck over depictions of Muhammad? Nevermind that the 19 terrorists involved in 9/11 came here, were trained here, and then carried out their mission. Um, hello McFly, if that doesn't send up some kind of warning signal then nothing will.

when members of congress are sworn in, there is no religious book present. the religious texts are only used in private ceremonies. in the official ceremonies they simply raise their hand.

No, thinking by spreading any one religion is the only way to promote peace and goodwill is stupid.

no matter which one it is. period. this is why we have such a rad time getting along in the middle east.

Maybe it's stupid to spread Christianity because it's a weakminded form of life-denying ethics based upon bedtime stories even children don't believe.

this guy is only as "good" or "bad" (depending on your view) as his government:

US blocking transfer of money by Muslims

Quote :
"DUBAI, July 2: Money transfer agencies like Western Union have delayed
or blocked thousands of cash deliveries on suspicion of terrorist
connections simply because senders or recipients have names like
Mohammed or Ahmed, company officials said.

In one example, an Indian driver here said Western Union prevented him
from sending US$120 to a friend at home this month because the
recipient’s name was Mohammed.

“Western Union told me that if I send money to Sahir Mohammed, the money
will be blocked because of his name,”
said 36-year-old Abdul Rahman
Maruthayil, who later sent the money through UAE Exchange, a Dubai-based
money transfer service.

In a similar case, Pakistani Qadir Khan said Western Union blocked his
attempt this month to wire money to his brother, Mohammed, for a
cataract operation.

“Every Mohammed is a terrorist now?” Khan asked.

Western Union Financial Services, Inc., an American company based in
Colorado, said its clerks simply are following US Treasury Department
guidelines that aim to scrutinize cash flows for terrorist links. Most
of the flagged transactions are delayed a few hours. Some are blocked
entirely.

In many cases, would-be customers like Maruthayil simply find another
way to send the funds often through informal exchanges with less
stringent monitoring.

But critics of the programme say it is far too broad. The number of
people inconvenienced in the Emirates alone, which closely cooperates
with US counter terror operations, is thought to be significant. One
Western Union clerk said about 300 money transfers from a single Dubai
franchise were blocked or delayed each day none of which ever turned up
a terrorist link.

In Washington, US Treasury spokeswoman Molly Millerwise said foreign
banks have used the department’s list of terrorist names to freeze
US$150 million in assets since it was released after Sept. 11. Ms
Millerwise didn’t know the value of money transfers blocked using the
list, but she said frustrations endured by those with certain names were
regrettable but necessary.

“We have an obligation to do all we can to keep money out of the hands
of terrorists,” Ms Millerwise said.

The list of names, available on the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets
Control Web site, contains hundreds of Mohammeds.

Western Union’s caution is perhaps understandable. Sept. 11 hijacker
Mohammed Atta sent money from two Western Union agencies in Maryland
before boarding a plane he helped crash into New York’s World Trade Centre.

In Dubai, a Western Union branch manager said he was forced to obey US
rules he and others consider too broad.—AP"

If this is the kind of shit that homeland security tries to do, i really have no faith in them protecting us at all.

Name based money flow control is patently stupid because the actual terrorists that need to transfer money are smart enough to use falsified name information.

This is some junior high shit.

^ True enough. If I could travel back in time I would advice the south not to attack. All the war accomplished was the curtailment of state's-Rights and the explosion of Federal powers.

I think America would be a much better place if the Civil War had never been fought. Of course, I'm assuming slavery was on the way out anyway, I might be wrong, in which case it would be better to spend my energies preventing the assasination of William McKinley.

Why don't you actually analyze the historical record before you go off about "good guys" and presumably, bad, evil secessionists. Your simplistic morality play is just that - simplistic and incomplete.

Why don't you tell the Southerners who were killed in attacks by the Union on civilian populations how "good" the feds were. Or, why don't you try explaining that to the Plains Indian, a people who were essentially exterminated by federal forces with the help and inspiration of General Sherman and his genocidal "final solution" to the Indian problem.

I wish the South didn't the first shot. I am curious though, how anything short of staying in the Union and continuing to pay Lincoln's beloved tariff (Fort Sumter was a collection post for this) would have prevented a confrontation there. Please explain to me how the Confederacy could claim to be a sovereign entity and allow a federal collections post in its territory.

Lincoln started the war in earnest by ordering a massive invasion of the South after a skirmish in which no one died in combat (according to my understanding, the first formal combat casualties of the war were when Lincoln's army of freedom and wonder fired on a group of war protesters in Maryland).

You're wrong. Fort Sumter happened April 12-13, 1861. Abraham Lincoln gave his first Inaugural Address on March 4, 1861.

Great quote. Care of the great British historian, Lord Acton who also had this to say about the War Between the States in a letter to Robert E. Lee:

In case anyone was wondering, the North didn't win the Civil War. And the South didn't either.

North Carolina did. Cause we rock.

Seriously, I love this state. Our history kicks everybody else's histories' asses, especially South Carolina's.
