We were talking with some of the RBC center staff during the basketball game yesterday... They said 1 hour and 20 minutes is the most they need to get it ready to play. They can go from hockey to basketball or basketball to hockey in ~1 hour and 20 minutes, give or take a few minutes.

Really impressive they can do it that fast.

Well Saturday games are the most profitable for the Hurricanes and I imagine NC State as well, so I doubt either side would be willing to give them up.

they could have planned it however they wanted

it makes it a lot more fun of a day for fans of both

i travel an hour to games for both teams

and it makes it an enjoyable day when both are on the same day

It's alot cheaper to plan both events in one day. Staff is already there and it only takes an hour and a half to convert. Plus you don't have to open up the stadium twice that week. Big Bossman is making the money by reducing overhead.
