^ I don't think anyone was following soccer here in 1987. Earliest you can go on a decent scale is 1994.

Back on topic, the church thing with the NFL, how could the NFL enforce this is someone went ahead and did it? They could do a civil suit but what jury would find the aforementioned church or any other group guilty of such a self-serving law? I think it's stupid and I think a jury would agree.

no, soccer isn't gearing to take over america...and thats a good thing. they suck at it. and paying becham $1million/week ($250mil. contract over 5 years) isn't going to change things. No one wanted him in europe anyway. So long as america keeps its nose out of the greatest sport and keeps busy with american football...things will be fine and dandy.
