Married. It's pretty cool most of the time. Only problem is I'm independent and he's clingy. But it balances out most of the time.
I don't like kids, but my husband wants one (or more). I f*cked up my knee in the Navy and my surgeon said not to have one so I don't make everything worse. So the husband agreed to pay for a surrgoate mother. Eventually.
I think that my career will enable me to put it off for a while. I'm the career-driven, 60+ hour week, go-getter ... I live to work and he works to live.

Do yourself, the kid, and the world a favor. If you don't like kids, DON'T FUCKING HAVE KIDS. My dad doesn't like kids either, and he spent my childhood outrageously unhappy. I won't even get into what all that did for me.7/7/2007 12:11:50 AM |

Random question, but I thought I'd ask in the "married" thread
who planned the rehersal dinner for your wedding? Seeing that it's still 9 months away, I didn't really do much with it yet, but the girl is going plan crazy and has already sent all these places and prices for each place, and now I feel bad that i'm not really doing my part at all
she's definitely the planner in the relationship 7/11/2007 9:47:16 PM |

^get used to her being the planner.
Its like a biological "thing" that women have, and you'll learn to love and respect it.
I have been married going on 4 years, and my wife always knows what we have coming up, what we have already commited to, and what we should start thinking about doing.
I call her my Microsoft Outlook with benefits. LOL. 7/12/2007 5:36:19 PM |

Set the date today, December 1st, here we go whirlwind planning, oh and basically you just keep your mouth shut and say yes when it comes to planning cause you just have to show up. 7/13/2007 11:21:19 AM |

my parents did... with input from us on where to do it at... we looked at a variety of places and picked one that was convenient to the church and the hotel where everyone was staying, that had good food and a good bar...
after all they're supposed to pick up the tab for that part7/13/2007 12:39:08 PM |

That sounds about right. My husband's input on the big wedding was that he wanted a big wedding. And then he did nothing about it. I got tired of freaking out over stupid things like napkins and favors and told him if he wanted the big wedding then he should plan it. So we're going to Rome and Athens instead. It's much easier to plan a trip than it is to plan a wedding.7/13/2007 11:55:15 PM |

The rehearsal dinner is at least on the husband's family financially. Since they were paying for it, I had them plan it. Since they were from out of state, I gave them a short list of places that I thought would be appropriate. They drove down one weekend to check the places out, selected one, and then took care of the rest (menu, etc). I was awesome to have one less thing that I had to worry about. 7/14/2007 11:38:37 PM |
