not really considering people in TSB have blamed Bush for pretty much everything they perceive as bad in the last 6 years....anyone who actually read through any TSB threads would know thats obvious

if my comment about bush being blamed for everything is the strawman you claim it should be simple for you to easily refute it...and easily refuting it != "talk about a strawman"...so i guess just keep trolling me if thats all you are going to do anyway

and its "straw person"

^^just because one or two douches go overboard with it you can't issue a blanket statement for all TSB. You also can't deny he had made some dumb ass decisions on a colossal scale.

so him making dumb decisions means he gets the blame for everybody's dumb decisions, like people who see a cat5 hurricane on the radar and decide to just ride it out? or 9/11 since he was in office...or the entire Iraq war because some different people got bad intelligence? people always want someone to blame and they already dont like bush, might as well blame him for anything they dont like...gas is 2.80 a gallon? fuck bush!

first of all most of the people who stayed had nowhere to go.

second, the administrations critisim comes from the fact that once shit hit the fan (and everyone knew it hit the fan), they didn't do anything for damn near a week. Not to mention the head of the relief efforts (backed by bush), had no experience in such a role.

in regards to Katrina, did you notice how Bush got maybe 99% of the blame while Ray Nagin and FEMA and local and state emergency relief agencies all seemed to share the other 1% of blame? Does that seem like an accurate distribution of actual blame?

^^you make it sound like bush gathered intelligence and bush, by himself, decided to invade iraq

which is obviously not the case when you have hundreds of people, if not thousands, gathering intelligence, and he has his advisors and cabinet...but like i said earlier, people want somebody to blame (even though its too early to know what will eventually come out of iraq) and bush sure is convenient...i mean tons of people liked to blame herb when our team lost because he is ultimately the leader!

5^ Well he did appoint the person who was in charge of FEMA who had no emergency management experience. Bush was so concerned about getting his political cronies into office, he didn't even take the time to find a suitable person to head our country's emergency management. Political appointees were intended to allow the president to quickly put the most qualified person to head an agency. Instead it has become a farce, where campaign donators and political cronies are appointed, regardless of experience.

I personally think it is an impeachable offense to appoint someone with no experience to be head of an agency tasked with saving lives and disaster response. People probably died because the Micheal Brown had absolutely no experience in emergency management, and the agency could not do anything until he got his head out of his ass and let the people do their job. So yes, I indirectly blame Bush for the Katrina response.

"So, you gave $200,000 to my reelection campaign? I'll make you in charge of the EPA!" Perhaps we can make the CEO of Exxon-Mobil's daughter the Secretary of Defense too.

again, no one is blaming anybody for katrina, people are being blammed for the poor response to the situation.

Nepotism has existed for centuries. Usually you make someone the Ambassador to New Guinea or Malta or something unimportant. You don't make them the head of a cabinet level agency. I don't think any president has done to this extent. It equates to the outright purchasing of government. You can buy yourself into a position in which you can interfere with an agency's administrative actions and shape policy that is not in the public interest.

Blame the victim eh? Those people in Alabama who died the tornadoes totally deserved it.... don't they know they live where tornadoes can occur? They should move to Alaska and they wouldn't have this problem.

I ask you if you have any basis for your claim that Bush has put more 'friends' in govt jobs than any other President and your only response is asking if I am going to keep trolling? I'll take that as a "No, I don't have any basis for my claim that Bush has probably hired more friends than any other President"

not at all...dont know exactly where you surmised that...im simply saying he is easy to blame when you can always use the argument that, as president, he is ultimately responsible for everything...he's an easy target for many it seems
