^^ it is the orange one that would be akin to a hummer, not the black one, which is a wagon. orange is SUV.
and while that graphic is funny, why have they made such a huge difference between the H3 and the H4? that pink labelled H4 is more like the H6.
and the orange Trax concept is like the H10 or so 4/4/2007 9:57:39 PM |

Lutz: 2009 Cadillac CTS-V "flat-out incredible"
Quote : | "The next-generation Cadillac CTS-V will have "a power level only described as unexpectedly high,” GM vice chairman Bob Lutz told Car and Driver. He described the vehicle as "flat-out incredible. I’ve never driven anything like that."
Based on the 2008 Cadillac CTS sedan, the new CTS-V os expected to arrive later this year as a 2009 model.
Specific details of the CTS-V's engine remain a mystery. Some sources say power will come from a 4.6-liter naturally aspirated V8, while others insist a supercharged V8 is in store for the hot CTS. Some sources even claim this car will share the "Blue Devil" Corvette's supercharged V8.
C&D says the 505 hp, 7.0-liter LS7 V8 that currently powers the Corvette is a distinct possibility ( ), considering the previous-generation CTS-V is powered by the 400 hp 6.0-liter Corvette LS2 powerplant.
Recent spy photos have shown the 2009 CTS-V undergoing extensive testing at the Nürburgring track in Germany and elsewhere. Prototypes feature a new grille design and a massive lower air-intake — both sporting a sporty mesh finish in the familiar V-spec tradition. " |

its going to be sick if it doesn't wheel hop as bad as the old one
C&D thinks they're going to try and trump bmw and it does have a bulge in the hood that would only be necessary for a supercharger.

eBay Find of the Day: Twin-Engine Toronado
Quote : | "Most people that want to have prodigious amounts of torque and horsepower simply slap on a supercharger or a turbocharger or two and call it a day. Back in the 60's, a guy by the name of Grant McCoon, who owned the Grant Piston Ring Company, decided the best way to add might to his car was to throw a second engine in the trunk.
The car in question, a 1966 Olds Toronado, actually has two engines and four wheel drive, since each engine operates the closest two wheels. The two combined engines total 760 horsepower, and the car's owner claims the vehicle hit 100 mph in only 11 seconds. The rear engine doesn't take up any room from the back seat, and it has it's own tachometer on the dash.
The 41 year old vehicle still looks great, with virtually no rust, and no dents to mention. The owner claims the vehicle hasn't been driven in 31 years, and it still carries its 1976 license plates. Dozens of people have already bid on this rare commodity, and the price is around $25,000. If you're looking for something truly unique and a blown engine just won't do, this 760 HP classic is waiting for you." |

Customizer builds long-wheelbase Lamborghini for Shaq
for large pic: http://www.leftlanenews.com/wp-content/plugins/iimage-gallery.php?idpost=5050&idg=1&idi=1
why doesn't het get a murcielago????
Quote : | "For some celebrities, a regular Lamborghini just doesn't cut it. 50 Cent gave his an all-chrome paint job, and Bam Margera of "Jackass" famously cut a sunroof into his Murcielago using a saw. For basketball start Shaquille O'Neal, his Lamborghini modifications were made, not out of vanity, but necessity.
Standing 7 ft 1 in and weighing 325 lbs, a regular Gallardo is understandably cramped. That's where Gaffoglio Family Metalcrafters came in. The firm stretched O’Neal’s car 12 inches through the middle with custom extended doors, roof and side windows.
The biggest challenge with a project like this was fabricating the glass while maintaining the proportions of the lines, making everything bigger,” says GFMI Chief Executive Officer George Gaffoglio. “We relied on our aerospace and coachworks divisions to make sure Shaq could fit in the car, but the naked eye could not detect any differences from the original Gallardo.” " |

Ultima launches green 800bhp engine package
Quote : | "British sports car manufacturer Ultima Sports has announced what it calls a new, worldwide, emissions-friendly engine option for fitment into the Ultima GTR and Ultima Can-Am. And it goes on show this weekend.
But just because it's green, don't go thinking that means it's dull.
It's the mighty aluminium 7-litre V8 Chevrolet LS7 motor from the latest C6 Z06 Corvette, and it's available as a complete turnkey package in conjunction with Ultima's OE engine suppliers American Speed.
The engine is installed in standard form, complete with full catalytic exhaust system and dry sump oiling installation. In the Z06 it cranks out 505bhp, but with an Ultima-built exhaust system it develops 565bhp and 520ft-lb torque. A change of camshafts delivers 650bhp, while the addition of a supercharger provides a very full-fat 800bhp. Remarkably, both the latter options still meet emissions standards.
Company boss Richard Marlow said: "This is a natural progression for us here at the factory as it enables us to tackle the emission stringent European market head-on with our sensational GTR and Can-Am models.
Ultima's LHD Can-Am demonstratorThe LS7-equipped Can-Am model which we have built in left-hand drive format will shortly be on its way to Europe for promotional duties. It has already passed SVA and undergone a full testing and evaluation program by us here at the factory and is a lovely unit. Our Ultima-specific LS7 package has been fully developed for production in all respects and is now available for our customers to purchase.
The 800bhp supercharged option will be rather brisk, which I'm confident will enable us to notch up yet further world speed records for our marque in the future should we ever choose to do so."" |

Report: Porsche 928 successor under development
Quote : | "Porsche is indeed developing a successor to the 928 coupe alongside its four-door Panamera, according to a new report. Germany's Auto Zeitung says development is underway on the new grand tourer, which should arrive not long after its four-door sibling.
The Panamera, a coupe-like sedan reminiscent of the Mercedes CLS-Class or Aston Martin Rapide, is expected to launch in 2008 as a 2009 model. It will feature a front-engine layout with V8 power.
The original 928 — built between 1977 and 1995 — featured a similar setup to the Panamera, with a large V8 in front of the driver and power to the rear wheels. Building a two-door version of the Panamera as a replacement to the 928 seems logical, then.
While there is still no concrete evidence of 928 prototypes, several months ago spies at Porsche's test center in Germany reported seeing a prototype vehicle wearing a 1995 Porsche 928 body, but with heavy modification and a pile of measurement equipment inside. The car appeared to be a testbed for a new platform, with a wider stance than the old 928.
Of course, this isn't the first time we've heard rumors of a new 928 — and that might be a good sign. In early 2006, Road and Track said Porsche planned to revive the 928 with a 2010 model based on the Panamera. 18 months later, the rumors continue to circulate, with no denial from Porsche officials." |

Quote : | "Toyota AE86 – RWD Corolla Coupe?
Autoblog.com reported last monday (July 30th) that Toyota is in the process of forming a special committee dedicated to creating interesting cars, mainly because Toyota has no sports cars left in their current line-up. Lexus is of course working on some good stuff, i.e. the IS-F and LF-A, but since the MR2 and Supra, Toyota has only been supplying the non-performance section of the market.
So the time has come for the resurrection of the AE86, a Corolla coupe from the 80's. Japanese car magazine Best Car (Japanese language site) has pried loose some initial specs of the AE86:
under 4m long, approximately 1,7 m wide, measuring 1,35m from the ground up, target weight lies under 1000kg, will most likely be powered by a 1,5 liter 2NZ-FE engine. Toyota's new partner, Fuji Heavy Industries (or Subaru to most people) will be supplying the RWD drivetrain.
Like the Scion xD, which is branded as the Toyota ist in Japan, there is a good possiblity that the AE86 might make it to the USA as a new Scion tC, or as an entirely new Scion budget performance car. Toyota is aiming for a 1.5mil Yen (or $12,300 / under 10,000Euro) price tag. " |

Saab 9-7X Aero with 390hp LS2 Engine Announced (US)
Quote : | "Get your racing gloves ready! Here comes yet another vehicle for the oxymoron segment, the Sport SUV. Representing the performance models of the Saab range, the “Aero” designation gets applied to Saab's mid-size 9-7X SUV which will be available in US dealerships this autumn. To compete with the likes of BMW's X5 4.8is, Porsche Cayenne Turbo and Mercedes' ML 63 AMG, the 9-7X Aero gets the LS2 6.0L small block V8 engine which is also found in the Corvette, Cadillac CTS-V and Trailblzer SS amongst others. Producing 390 hp (295 kW) and 395 lb.-ft. (542 Nm) of torque, acceleration to 60 mph is under 6 seconds. Maximum towing capacity is 6600 pounds (2994kg).
Other perks to give the limited edition Aero package that extra special dash of spice include charcoal metallic paint called Carbon Flash Metallic, 20-inch polished aluminum wheels with P255/50R20 V-speed-rated tires and "Aero" embroidered leather seats and embossed floor mats.
In the handling department the 9-7X Aero gets lowered chassis, 10mm thicker front stabilizer bars, heavy-duty rear axle with lim-slip diff and upgraded brakes. And all this can be yours for the dirt cheap starting price of $45,690, which includes a $745 destination fee." |

The A1 prices are expected to start at below 20,000 euros ($27,000) and annual sales targets are set at 80,000 - 100,000 units. Speculation: Ferrari FS 599 Fuoristrada SUV
Quote : | "Lamborghini already had an SUV for sale more than 25 years ago and today Porsche's Cayenne is a global success. Ferrari hesitated for a long time but has now decided to develop the world's fastest SUV, or so says our Italian contact with insider info. Our DTP expert than set to work with this information and produced the following renderings. The project has been coded the "Ferrari FS 599 Fuoristrada" and its supposed world debut target date is the Geneva Auto Show 2010.
While the five-door will feature four-wheel drive its off-road capabilities are not among the top priorities of the Ferrari development team. Two-thirds of the engine's power is rumored to be transferred to the wide 22-inch high-performance street tires in the rear.
The engine is familiar and hails from the Ferrari F599 Fiorano, albeit in slightly modified form. Its maximum power output of more than 600 hp and 600 Nm of torque will be a challenge for the size 315 tires front and back.
Despite an empty weight of around 2.2 tons the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h is supposed to take less than five seconds, thanks to Formula 1-type shift paddles on the steering wheel. Targeted top speed is 300 km/h.
With a top speed such as this the Ferrari FS 599 Fuoristrada would easily eclipse the performance of a Porsche Cayenne Turbo, just as easily as it would eclipse its price at projected 250,000 Euros plus." |
