Im pretty sure your 3 series can take out a mustang in a track event, fox bodies have pretty poor handling. I would dare say though, that stock for stock, or modified dollar for dollar, a fox will take a 3 series

yes they did, the first engine options were a carryover from the mustang II and included a v6 (2.8L?)

again, yeah they did. the early fox body, commonly referred to as the "4 eyes" car, had an option for what was called the essex 3.8 v6. it put out a whopping ~110hp or so. of course, the v8 of that era was well below 200 though. the ony 4 cylinder at that time was the turbo 2.3 and it was somewhere in the 120-130hp range iirc.

More like he gets wrecked... I can't remember him causing a wreck or taking himself out within the past couple of seasons. Specifically remember the dumbshit honda driver that took him out at Monaco when he still had the possibility of a perfect season a couple of years ago.

I'm sure there's a few I'm forgetting, but all the same, fucking up definitely isn't any indication of good or skillful driving, which was my point.
