i just wish both teams could lose this game. i wonder if espn will still go nuts over them playing each other in august when the yanks are 20 games back... probably so 6/4/2007 12:07:12 AM |

A-Rod took Papelbon's soul, ala Pujols/Lidge.
Yankees take 2-out-of-3.
Still very much in the wild card race....although I dont think the division is a realistic idea for the Yanks at this point. 6/4/2007 12:16:05 AM |

^^^too bad this is a regular season game where as the Pujols/Lidge saga occurred in the playoffs. Arod doesn't do shit against anyone in the playoffs (since he's been on the yankees).

Yes the Yanks can not even see the light of a div title right now....but if...(big if) the Yanks found away to grab the wild card.....the sox better be worried. The Yanks have now take 2 or 3 in the last 2 series this season. Any team who had the injuries to their pitching staff the Yanks did in April and May would be in or near last place. Full blame for that falls on Cashman that POS continues to sign over the hill pitchers......The Sox however are getting guys that still have some gas in their tank. How can the Yankees expect to win for the rest of the year with a aged staff like Clemmens, Petitte, Mussina...Wang is the only exception and he has been injuried and not pitched as well this year, and I don't want to mention that Cashman signing gem of Pavano. That bastard should not take a dime of the Yankees money....But hey.....I would love nothing better than a repeat of 1978....with Jeter this time hitting one out to take it on the last day.....Hope springs eternal ....Go Yankees 6/4/2007 1:29:41 PM |

yes, the sox are really ashamed by wake losing twice on days that weren't condusive to the knuckleball.
last night was a blown game, sure. but why should i be worried when the boston pitcher that gave up four runs pitched strong into the 7th with his highest count of the year, while the yankee's started gave up 5 and tweaked his back?
oh no - oka and pal each gave up a run! it's the end of the world!
but in all seriousness, i'm still waiting for the other foot to fall. they should know better than to do this to us year after year. 6/4/2007 5:17:25 PM |

At this point I think it is unrealistic to think about catching the Bosox for the lead, but....if we can take two of 3 from them and Seattle can lose we can really help our selfs in regard to the wild card....cause it's all about making the playoffs..... I call us winning Game 1 and 3....Beckett is pitching too good right now....

Game one to the Bronx Bombers as I predicted....and we picked up a game in the W/C race too. Tonight is going to be tough since Beckett is pitching so well....I still say we will take games 1 & 3 8/29/2007 9:40:27 AM |

Game 2 to the Yanks....as I said earlier in this thread....more important than gaining a game on the sox in the east (cause realistically we aren't going to catch them although it would be nice) is us winning and Seattle losing.....tie for the lead in the w/c..... 8/29/2007 10:43:08 PM |

Game 3 to the Yanks.....a gem pitched by Wang, and now we have the wildcard lead. Although like I said it is doubtful we will catch the Sox....it sure was nice to sweep them !!! 8/31/2007 10:57:12 AM |

I think most people agree that the Sex are probably a little too far ahead to catch up but this sweep over them this week easily puts them as the wild card favorites. They could put the nail in the wild card coffin if they can take care of the next few series against TB and SEA. 8/31/2007 11:05:32 AM |
