I wasn't sure you knew that b/c from reading your posts it was obvious you have no clue what our athletics dept. was like a decade ago.

Our sports team's performance across the board is higher, facilities have been upgraded in almost every sport, fan interest is higher, and cash into the athletics dept is greater now than before Fowler.

^^ fowler is Herb, not the worst guy at his job ever, he just isn't good enough to be here and would be better off at a D-II school or ASU

i'm *pretty* sure Chuck had the best record over his first 6 years of any coach in NCSU history. His ACC record might have been worse than MOC, but not overall record

They fired their football coach for a 7-5 season, we throw a parade. They are regularly good in baseball, women's basketball, softball, and football. Just because their basketball team is down means the whole program is down?

who cares? whether or not he is a good AD will only be determined (whether you like it or not) by how successful our football and basketball teams are during his tenure. Being that they both were sub-par when he came in and are both looking up now, its looking good for the old boy.

again : who cares? There are way more ppl employed by this university doing a lot less making about as much $$ as he is... Unless he is responsible for the tailgate restricitons: then Id hate him.

i even mentioned les as ad earlier in the thread smart guy. a DECADE ago, after he got finished flushing our bball program from the sidelines, les was working to improve our major revenue programs by hiring Sendek, Amato and Avent. Fowler just sat back and reaped the benefits and told the fans how we should all be happy with mediocrity.

much like sendek for bball, chuck put us back on the radar for recruiting and stockpiled some talent. he also basically singlehandedly expanded carter-finley and injected much needed excitement and fan fervor into the program. i talk alot of shit about Chuck, but he did do those things, he just couldnt coach a team on the field for shit.

Women's tennis doubles team selected to the NCAA Individual Championships. (First time in NCSU history)

Men's tennis qualified for back to back NCAA tournaments. (Only made 4 tournaments in school history)

Women's golf earned 6th straight NCAA appearance. (Program was reinstated in 2000 after 15 year absence)

Our athletics dept. is in shambles. Fire Fowler!

^ and how much did Fowler have to do with it, 0%. Just like Sid spoke up during the search, and O'brien said he was interested before we even started nothing. If Ulysses S. Grant had been an AD he would have been Fowler, he just sits on his fucking brains all day
