the Iraq war is a no win topic. No matter what we do now bad shit will happen. I say blame Bush and his party by default. Time to swing the other way for eight years. 4/26/2007 3:56:35 PM |

you can blame bush, but the dems try like hell, but cant hide from the fact they voted for it. A couple weeks ago hillary tried to say she thought she was voting for inspections. LOL. The sad thing is people actually will believe that.
Im just telling you what ive heard from soilders, and to be honest, not a huge number, but a consensus between them all. The media never talks about the positives being done in iraq. I think they feel guilty about not raising any questions before the war, so they are over compensating now. 4/26/2007 4:53:57 PM |

This is pointless to keep bringing up. If that is the best response a conservative can come up with to explaining away the clusterfuck we have going on right now, that "WELL, YOU DEMS VOTED FOR IT TOO", then this country is properly fucked. I don't excuse anyone that voted for this from the politics they played in not wanting to go against the witch hunt that was the call for the war. It's pretty shitty this Admin played "that" game, and sad that not enough people took a hard look at the thought process of this thing, but I think everyone agreed that we thought we could trust the leaders when they assured us that taking over Baghdad would be quick, and we'd be in and out of there no problem. Thats what they voted for, not the shit storm that is there now.
At the moment, it is what it is, and it's dumb and stupid to think that anything will change without making real sweeping strategic changes. A damn 20k troops on top of 100k when what is really needed is about 100-150k more isn't going to do shit.
Bush is just going to ride this shit out until his term is up and everyone knows it.4/26/2007 5:01:47 PM |

they refers to iraqis, not soldiers.
so 7.38 soldiers talked to 12.96 iraqis and 8.55 of them said they want the soldiers to stay. (and then these 7.38 soldiers came and told you)
wowwee!!!!
what about the gazillions of other iraqis?4/26/2007 6:55:52 PM |

he didnt say most of the iraqis ive talked to... 4/26/2007 7:05:05 PM |

geez, THe soldiers that I have talked to have all said that the Iraqis want the US there, and they are helping the iraqis. I also have one friend who has been to iraq twice said that the news here isnt very accurate of what is going on. He compares it to just airing the national murders nightly and then assuming the rest of the country is the same.
I dont claim to be zogby by any means, its just been my experience from the soldiers Ive met and talked to. 4/26/2007 8:39:15 PM |

I dont see how anyone can stand up for GW and his admin anymore. Its like some people are just so oblivious to everything that they have done and still blindly wave the flag. I mean damn, Iraq was a colossal mistake, the admin knew they were feeding us shit when they went to war, most of the country bought it, including the democrats. Now, even though everyone (who has half a brain) realizes we were duped into a bait and switch, you still want to stay there! We have no clear objective to accomplish, no timetable to accomplish this phantom objective, and no form of measuring victory, despite the fact that we cant win anything because WE DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT WE ARE FUCKING DOING THERE! Yet people like you TreeTwista10 still think we ought to "stay the course", what are you doing in college, sir? 4/26/2007 11:27:36 PM |
