The Grape in Cameron Village (across from Village Draft House) voted Raleigh's #1 date place. Foods reasonable, and you can get out of there for not a lot of money if you skip the wine. Its also really nice. 5/17/2007 3:42:04 PM |

518 West.
You can't go wrong.
Red Room is also a decent place, but make a reservation. 5/17/2007 4:48:42 PM |

I like Piccola Italia and Cafe Luna for Italian. 5/17/2007 7:06:14 PM |

so far I think its between 518 and bella napoli, leaning more toward bella napoli though. I would like somewhere with a semi quiet atmosphere so I can carry on a conversation without having to yell across the table. 5/17/2007 7:23:42 PM |

well,, this place is not as fancy as all of the others, but the MACARONI GRILL is where I had my first dinner with my now wife of three years.
The food, wine, and conversation were all great, but the key was drawing on the table. It allowed us to relax and do things like hangman, etc. while we waited.
This is a great place for a first date. 5/17/2007 8:59:35 PM |

I would have to say Goodnight's. Wednesdays and Sundays the show is free with dinner and it's a nice to go for a first date. 5/18/2007 9:51:34 AM |

I was familiar with it having been there before, she didnt know the difference, she said it was 10/10, and she enjoyed playing hangman with the crayons 5/19/2007 12:05:03 AM |

The Mrs. and I really like Biaggi's (was mentioned earlier). The only thing is it's pretty deep into Cary so, high probability of sitting near tables w/ kids, which is not always a favorite for a 1st date. But the food is really good and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed. Best of luck. Also, I concur about Porter's being awesome. 5/20/2007 4:56:43 PM |

Gotta go with Porters too. The atmosphere is pretty chic --almost upscale for Hillsborough street-- but the menu isn't ridiculously priced. They've got some weird/unique eats, but they've got your basics too. And the mac and cheese is BADASS. 5/20/2007 7:57:25 PM |
