i was gonna come in here and talk junk about how stupid the Rambo movies were, how Stallone is a shitty actor, and how i can't believe how anyone would pay money to watch him rehash some washed up 80's bullshit.

then i watched the trailer.

and all i can say is

OMFG I JUST SHIT MY PANTS.

and that is why it's "cruel and unusual" to shoot someone with a 50 cal machine gun.

all though it didnt seem that cruel, the fellow didnt look like he lasted that long

The awesomeness of the movie makes up for the fact that Sly couldn't figure out the three shells.

I wonder if we'll see a real preview in theaters or something. Its so graphic that the only scene you could show in a preview on TV or theaters is sly hammering that piece of metal in the forge lol

i'm kinda worried that they might have to cut out a lot of the awesomeness seen in these trailers just to get the movie rated R

Quote :
" LOS ANGELES - Sylvester Stallone says he and his "Rambo" sequel movie crew recently witnessed the human toll of unspeakable atrocities while filming along the Myanmar border.

"I witnessed the aftermath — survivors with legs cut off and all kinds of land-mine injuries, maggot-infested wounds and ears cut off," Stallone told The Associated Press in a phone interview Monday. "We hear about Vietnam and Cambodia and this was more horrific."

The 61-year-old actor-director returned to the U.S. eight days ago from shooting "John Rambo," the fourth movie in the action series, on the Salween River separating Thailand and Myanmar, formerly known as Burma.

Stallone said he was in Thailand for six months, most of it along or on the river.

"This is a hellhole beyond your wildest dreams," Stallone said. "All the trails are mined. The only way into Burma is up the river."

This was before the crackdown last week against the largest pro-democracy protests in Myanmar in two decades. After the government increased fuel prices in August, public anger turned to mass protest against 45 years of military dictatorship. Last week, soldiers responded by opening fire with automatic weapons on unarmed demonstrators.

For decades, Myanmar's army has waged a brutal war against ethnic groups in which soldiers have razed villages, raped women and killed innocent civilians.

The "Rambo" script, written long before the present Myanmar uprising, features boatman John Rambo — the Vietnam War-era Green Beret who specializes in violent rescues and revenge — taking a group of mercenaries up the Salween River in search of missing Christian aid workers in Myanmar. The character "realizes man is just a few paces away from savagery when pushed."

"I called Soldier of Fortune magazine and they said Burma was the foremost area of human abuse on the planet," Stallone said.

Shots were fired over the film crew's head, he said. "We were told we could get seriously hurt if we went on."

"I was being accused, once again, of using the Third World as a `Rambo' victim. The Burmese are beautiful people. It's the military I am portraying as cruel," he said.

Stallone is now editing "John Rambo," which will be released in January. He wants the Motion Picture Association of America will give the film an "r" rating."

Just got back from this. It was pretty fucking awesome. The gore effects were spectacular. The movie could have been a little bit longer (just a little), but I walked in with high expectations and I was not disappointed.

I agree, the movie truly delivered. I also agree that it could've been a little longer as it got off to a somewhat slow start. But wow!!! Would see again!!!

Three words to describe how awesome this movie is:

ARROW

THROUGH

CHIN

I mean like 8 people died before the title of the film was shown. My only complaint (like most is that it was a little too short)

Also, lol at Midnight Meat Train. As soon as they showed the title for that, everyone in the cinema started laughing. It sounds like a freaking porno.

dito on Midnight Meat Train, I was thinking, hey, this looks fairly good, and then the title, yeah, nope.

Rambo blew me away. My adrenaline was up so high by the end I wanted to start high fiving everyone in the theater. This was a great great ending to the Rambo saga, and I think this Rambo is even harder and badder than the young Rambo of the 80's. This is exactly the man I pictured Rambo growing into over the past 20 years. The final kill, dude, what a kill, this dude knows how to go out. My expectations were knocked out of the park.

I guess none of the critics get it. It has received poor reviews.
