that sounds like a personal problem. sounds like you might need to put on your big-boy pants and listen to some showtimes for about a minute.

[Edited on August 16, 2007 at 4:04 PM. Reason : not to mention those showtimes you hate to listen to, will likely have the answer you're looking for]

My wife and I just rewatched all of Arrested Development about a month ago, and I commented (several times, I thinkā€¦. judging from my wife's reactions) that Michael Cera, George Michael Bluth on AD, is an amazing young actor and should start being in movies soon, so I was really happy when just a couple days later I saw the previews for this movie. He is really funny and even at 15 on the first season of AD he had a very good approach to subtle and quirky humor.

Movie was pretty fucking hilarious. BUT.... 40 Yr. Old Virgin > Knocked Up > Superbad

Actually, I can't decide if I like Virgin more than Knocked up, but I know that I liked them both more than Superbad.

Still like Superbad a lot, just not as much.

There was a teaser trailer of The Dark Knight on it... oh and a movie called Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story written by Judd Apatow and starring John C. Reilly in a spoofing Johnny Cash kinda role. The movie is basically a Walk The Line spoof. I honestly wasn't overly impressed with this preview, other than Jack White playing Elvis...

So, I have plans with different people to watch Superbad on Saturday and Sunday evening...

3 times in 4 days... here we go

if it's a trilogy, then what are all the other movies involving the judd ?apatow? crowd.

^he obviously doesn't really think it's a trilogy... just faster way to refer to the three movies we've mentioned

the common factor in the three movies are seth rogen and jonah hill have roles, and they are produced by judd apatow

I don't know about all theaters but the two I worked at had lines that went to the phone in the box office that was the same as the listed phone number except the last digit was one less.

Hahaha they were checking IDs at the front of the auditorium so that no minors could sneak in. The whole McLovin thing was great.

yea i dono i guess i just had super high hopes. dont get me wrong it was still funny but there were definitely quite a few 'dragging' parts in the movie which is never good for a comedy

The cops were the worst part. They were the reason the movie dragged at the end.

I thought McLovin and the cops were awesome, but I felt like the parts of the movie (particularly toward the end) with them in it dragged more than the Seth/ Evan parts.

it was a pretty funny movie. I thought it was funnier than Knocked Up, but no way was it funnier than 40 Y.O. Virgin.

The should have named this movie: SuperAwkward. I have never seen a movie better capitalize on awkward pauses, noises and shit like that...

i guess after seeing cera in arrested development i expected a lot better. i don't know, obviously i'm outnumbered here, and the critics apparently loved it, too. just seemed like they asked a bunch of pubescent fifth graders who just found out what sex was to write the script and they filled it with every dumbed down dirty joke they could think of.

i agree. now, dont get me wrong, some of those parts were actually REALLY funny. Unfortunately that kind of humor gets easily played out and doesnt carry an entire movie to me
