^ does your girlfriend know it's not a diamond? And seriously, I have a diamond necklace and I don't go around saying, yeah, and they're real too. That's just tacky.

she must hang out with some real winners because it is really fucking easy to tell the difference just examining how the light refracts off of it

first of all, diamond's aren't all that.

secondly, rich people rent jewelry all the time!

i got tired of reading the bullshit going on in this thread, but I was just wondering... have you gone to jewelers and asked about something like this? They might be able to give you some other ideas. Non-mall jewelry stores seem to be more helpful in my experience. Hope you have a wonderful wedding day & you feel beautiful

I don't know why you made this thread anyway. Much like your car lease, your mind is already made up and you're simply looking for others to validate your decision.

Sad how true this is.

on a related note, Eric Bolling from Fast Money said generally the smaller diamonds are bloodier--for whatever thats worth. i don't expect most of you to know or care what all that entails.

also, moissanite is the shit. unless you're walking around with one of those monocle microscope things, you won't be able to tell the difference between moissanite and a real rock.

and while we're at it, buy gold, its going up. i like the ETF with ticker symbol IAU.
