just don't be "that guy" at the ramp. there is proper etiquette to launching a boat. pm or give me a call if you want a few guidelines.

This year so far at the ramp....

I have snapped two trailer guides, bending the pipe on one and snapping the PVC in half and watching it fly across the ramp.

We sheared the front bunk off the frame.

We have had two flat tires.

The boat got stuck in reverse coming off the trailer.

My dad got his nose crushed by the winch.

The winch exploded in my hands with full tension.

We had to get the boat craned off the trailer because the bow ring got caught on top of the roller and was stuck.

Other than that trailer isn't that stressful.

bartons creek was fucking PACKED so we went to creedmoor rd. - where the lot was packed but the ramp traffic was moving well. we floated it off, jenn tied it to the dock, i parked the truck and off we went. putted around a few hours learning this and that, a little duct tape first aid on my foot, and then got home to realize the lower unit on the new outboard is almost 5in shorter than the old one. no wonder i could barely get 20mph...

[Edited on July 21, 2007 at 8:21 PM. Reason : UNDERPSI def. gets the credit for this one, he asked me about shaft length and i forget to check]

the "correct" use of the abbreviation is for center console.

And "cuddy cabin" is actually redundant. It's the same as saying "cabin cabin"

Yeah, and you can camp there with your boat right at your campsite. Just don't let some dickhead officer on a mountain bike sneak up on you while he's looking for the abnoxiously loud people more than obviously camping a few sites down.

Fucking woods cops can be real dickheads.

SUCCESS!

Only a couple small setbacks today, first it appears sometime in the past two weeks someone disconnected my fuel line and used my primer bulb to siphon my gas tank dry... I hope they tried to put that shit in their car, that would be great. SECOND I had to adjust the throttle linkage to raise the idle a little- otherwise so far so good. I have some pics to upload but this is shaping up to be a busy evening...

Got sunburnt like hell too, you tend to forget the sunblock when your boat wont start at the ramp. Think we will take it out again tomorrow, lake wasnt too busy today and I want to keep working on the break-in process for this motor.
