Got all my stuff out of the car today, took some more pictures for y'alls amusement.
Also, so far I've gotten letters from 9 lawyers, 5 chiropractors, and one who is *both*! Also, with 5 copies of my accident report from them, should I worry about getting an official copy from RPD?
anyone need a 94-97 honda accord Haynes manual?

I guess this is the place I should ask this:
About two weeks ago I was in an accident in a parking lot. I waited till it was clear to back out of my spot. Before backing out I noticed a large Ford Expedition drive past me and go to the end of the parking lot aisle (about 20 feet away from my spot). So at that point I proceeded to back out of the spot and was about 3/4s of the way out of the spot when I saw the same Ford Expedition in reverse from about 20 - 30 feet. I came to a complete stop but the Ford kept coming (in reverse I'd estimate at about 10-15 mph). I yelled at her 'Lady what are you doing' she then hit my car. We exchanged contact information and she gave me her insurance information. I got an estimate and she filed a claim with her insurance, but they are claiming our stories contradict and so they have denied the claim. What should I do? I had a passenger in the car (the insurance company won't take her as a witness). I assume I can use her should I take this lady to small claims court. 8/31/2007 9:18:49 AM |

^ Did you contact your insurance company immediately after the accident with your story? The fact that you did not might make it harder for you in court. The best bet is still to go through your insurance company, as insurance companies have already worked out processes and rules for arbitrating disputes, and it would be better to use these mechanisms than to go through the expense yourself of going to court. 8/31/2007 9:56:06 AM |

Certain insurance companies are known to deny liabililty initially, even if it is clear and their insured was cited for the violation. They hope you will drop it and go away. Depending on the situation, you might want to get a lawyer.

if your passenger was a bystander, they can't dispute that.

^^^^ should have called the police so they could have written a report on the situation. As already stated, some places just try to deny any and everything initially and that's probably what they're doing.. I'd lawyer up though. How much was the estimate for anyways? 8/31/2007 12:40:20 PM |

Thanks for the advice. The damage was just to my bumper so the estimated damages were only 600 dollars (parts and labor). So I was thinking the amount was too small to worry with a lawyer and just try small claims. 8/31/2007 1:53:28 PM |
