I should take a picture of my kitchen table, side table, and floor of my dining room and living room- shit everywhere, stuff that isn't even mine; going to put some books and accessories on eBay probably Sunday night and thin stuff out I haven't used in a while.

I was going to clean yesterday, but then the new car arrived

I will put a Nitro TC3 starter box on there as well as side by side battery discharge trays, modeling and r/c books, spare parts to some of these cars, and so on.....................

finally drove the f201 f1 car, stole the pinion out of the Tamiya Swift, its the same part. Quick enough; need the speed gear set to get here before I experiment with which motor to use; no turn limit ESC on it as well

I've got a 4 channel radio and a Supertigre .51 sitting around just waiting for a Matrix .40. I'll pick it up from my granddad's when I'm home for Christmas, if not before.

I also have a Supertigre .90 and another radio (from my old Goldberg Ultimate) that would work really well in a .60 size Edge 540/Yak/etc. Granddad also has an O.S. 120 4-stroke that I might trade him the .90 for. I wonder which one has more power...if it's close, I'll prob go with the 1.20, even though it'll weigh a hair more. 4-strokes sound so good.

Figured it out. Apparently i'm retarded and pushed the TX crystal in crooked so that it looked like it was plugged in, but really wasnt.

Ran a 3300 pack through it tonight in a parking lot off Trinity Road with a 19T motor. Crazy fast.

In the next few days I should be getting another TC4 FT in the mail AND a Nitro TC3.

I find it odd that none of the hobby shops in the area i.e. a radius of 50 miles, keep emaxx motors in stock. I know the hobby shop in fuquay usually keeps a shit load of traxxas products on hand, but they gotta order it too. Last time I had run it I went mud-boggin a few months ago and apparently an extra 10 pounds of mud on/in a 10 lb truck doesn't bode well

I dont know much about the emaxx's...but cant you run normal motors in it? You just have to wire one of them in reverse...

That's what a lot of the racers were doing years ago at the tracks I raced at.

If you by normal motors you mean ones that come outta vacuums and drills then yeah, I've heard of quite a few, approximately 20 different types of standard commercial/industrial 550 size motors that would work easily with some caps and solder. Most are brutal with their torque compared to stock like the Johnson line of them, but end up with low rpms. A majority also aren't suited for pushing higher voltage or longer run times in hot and dusty conditions though. Especially with prices being around 10-15 shipped from ebay, I'm stickin with the titans. Ever since this happened I've been more interested in other motors but didn't wanna blow the money on it just to crap out again a few days later.

If by 'normal motor' you mean a stock class racing motor (with the plastic endbell and replaceable brushes) then it would be best to change the timing on the reverse motor. Otherwise one motor will be running advanced and one will be retarded. I know most stock motors have 'locked' timing but you just bend the can tabs back, file new reliefs in the endbell in the new timing location, rotate the endbell to the new timing location, and bend the tabs back down.

This will void your stock motor for stock racing though, since its been modified.

problem is that the emaxx is not as popular as nitro monster trucks. I have worked for some different shops over the years; redneck monster truck customers snub electric almost instantly, you have to give the people want they want (or think they want) which is nitro

so no titan motors sitting in stock; and if they were, it would be $texas compared to online stores too.

Titans-fan cooled which helps keep them cool- are great BUT you can run any 20turn or higher motor on an emaxx. of course double it, buy two. Hell man just go brushless on it it will be sick- a LOT of emaxx people are doing that route with it.

Get some pin type tires, stock emaxx tires are crap tastic too. It will make a major difference!!

After brushless, go lipo too= save even more weight. Electric cars or trucks are all about saving weight!!

side note: looks like rain tomorrow, and Friday. Grrrrr wanted to go out to Durham on one of my days off. Oh well.

Haha, I broke 2 front A-arms at the Durham track yesterday on the TC4.

After I broke the 2nd one I decided to mess with the NTC3 (I hadnt even cranked it yet and I've had it for weeks). I could consistently get it to crank, but my needle settings must be WAAAy off because half the time it would be spitting fuel out of the pipe, and when I try to lean it out a bit it wouldnt hardly crank. THEN when I finally get it started and get it on the track, it dies when I let off the throttle basically. I just couldnt get it to idle right.

Overall, a pretty unsuccessful day at the track

My sister moved to Chicago earlier this year, she sends me a photo album online with pictures of my nephews and whatnot

low and behold they went to the iHobby expo! I mean that is a HUGE show for RC and hobby companies, and is held just 3 months before Christmas.

She knew I would be jealous and she was right. AT least I would know what I was looking at.

I really need to get up there one of these days

Yeah, I really feel more at home on the dirt. I think the nitro bug has bitten though. Those few laps that I actually got to drive with my NTC3 were freakin fun. I bought a Jammin X1 CR FTE today.

Should be getting it in the mail soon, however I need an engine for it. Any suggestions?

Have you seen the pics of the offroad track opening soon in Fuquay? It looks SWEET. I cant wait to drive the Jammin on that.

no but I am interested. I still have a B3 buggy, hopefully electric buggies are still going to be popular. Thats what I would run, maybe get a B4 if I had to. I have only raced touring cars, either on carpet or outside, but I have run dirt on a dirt track, and it kicks ass for sure.

Yeah, I spent a few hours at the shop in Fuquay yesterday installing the .18 and starting the break in process. The shop owner walked me through the process since this is my first nitro vehicle.

He said the offroad track should be opening this month. They're just waiting on permits. I also asked him if he thinks many people would be running electrics and he laughed and said "NITRO mang, pretty much alllll nitro".

I'm sure if enough electrics showed up they'd run an electric class. I'll have a XXX KE or something similar soon i'm sure. My roots are in electric offroad racing. (But i'll be running nitro too with my Jammin X1 CR FTE )

The track is still down and the weather was perfect. Ran my Nitro TC3 for a while. My glowplug burned out while I was trying to crank it though and I didnt have the right kind of replacement, so I had to run the rest of the time with a crappy O'donnell 99 plug instead of the O.S. #5 that I should have been running. The car ran like ass the rest of the time.

Still had fun though!

BTW, I got a Go Tech .21 3 Port engine for my Jammin X1 CR (1/8th scale off-road buggy). Cant wait to install it and get it broke in. Should be ballistic.

I just got this plane thing. I read some reviews online, but everyone just wrote dumb stuff like "I can't really review it because I crashed it the first time out."

Hopefully I won't plow $70 into the ground on the first try. At least it's only $70 though.

Went to Pullen park today and broke in the .21....started to lean it out and this thing absolutely SCREAMS.

I dont think I put my clutch together properly because I started having problems with it after like 10 minutes of running.

I have to hold down full throttle for it to get up to any speed....no punch at all, even though the engine revs like crazy.

Do you have any idea what it could be? I'm a n00b to nitro.

Come out and race or watch. Spectators are ALWAYS welcome!

BOAT RACERS?

i just got a new formula rtr hydroplane (1/12th scale) and i'm looking for some good places to run it around raleigh. I have a house in southern pines on lake sequoia where i run it on weekends sometimes if anyone is interested in coming out to race a bit.

i don't care if i get my ass handed to me, it would just be fun to drive against someone with a higher-end boat. anyone interested or have suggestions where to race in raleigh?

thanks!

Of the few rules they posted, I dont remember anything about RC stuff, it was always about pets or fishing or swimming. I'd run it by the park office/ranger.

I know that they have had a SAILBOAT club out there before. Maybe, I mean maybe electric might be ok. NO way nitro boats. But i doubt anything that causes even a small wake they will frown upon.

Go to that smaller section of Lake Wheeler- right as you drive in but before going up the hill/camping area -0that might be better
