thanks for proving my point ding dong. that's pretty much EXACTLY what happened here, and the right way to do things. i was nothing but upfront and honest with kyle and his dad about the problems i encountered. if he had such a problem with things, you should have been a man about it and confronted me in person then about it. not a pussy posting stuff on the internet YEARS later.

the only mistake i made was being too nice and not telling kyle to come get his worn out piece of shit out of my garage when i saw what a clusterfuck it was. why did you even ask me to do the work on it if i supposedly had already screwed you with the gsxr?

i remem u trying to setup my cables to push and that's how u kinked them in the first place and then u set them up properly, altho they were kinked from ur first drunk nig rigging.. i was a dumb ass 18y.o. didnt know any better. my dad had to step in and tell u that cables cant push, they can only pull. and that u done fucked up.

that's when u finally bought used cables for the car, as u should have done.

if i still have them, they are in the that same garage that Noen now rents. when i go to move the things i still have in there out, i'll look for them and i'll be more than happy to take a picture. they were not kinked. the sheathing had come loose, from what was probably a combination of 3 things:

- engine heat making it brittle

- ABUSE

- dry rot

taking the cables off/moving them out of the way to drop the transmission was the final straw. your celica wasn't my first rodeo kyle, i've done clutches in three other third gens and one second gen. guess what? no problems with any of them.

i was referring to fwd models, in which case yours would be a 2nd gen. i've seen them referred to both ways, since the 86-89's were completely different cars. *shrug*

early 1-3 gen/late 1-4 gen.

pretty sure i know the difference since i've also owned an a60 and a t160.

i would also like to add for this now public record that at NO TIME did toyotafj40s side with his dad in this whole situation. in fact, he told me more than once what an asshole he thought he was, how he didn't like him, how he was always too hard on him, and that he thought his dad wasn't being fair. he appreciated and thanked me for dealing with him and spending my extra time/money to try and make him happy. never, at any time until now, did kyle say he didn't like the way things were handled.

Ill chime in to say that BBR is a stand up guy.

He's helped me out on numerous occasions. If you can fault him for ANYTHING, it would be for being too busy. But if you pay a guy 1/2 the going rate to fix something, expecting it to be done in any timely manner is fucking stupid.
