Fall is 40 - 60. But that should have been back in October, by now you should be in the high 30 - mid 50 range.

20/40 is typical winter for a lot regions outside the south unless you work your way into the rockies, upstate NY, or Minnesota. I'd guess 20/40 is a typical NYC day in January.

There is nothing nice or appealing about going outside and freezing your ass off. I like warm weather but I'd say a "pleasant" fall day would be 65/40. cool during the day but jacket not required; and brisk out at night to where a nice sweater or jacket would suffice but not have to put on 20 layers just to walk to your car

For fall weather we got the shaft this year b.c October was the hottest on record for RDU. The avg Maximum was 78 this year and normally 70. Hell we even had 2 90 degree days.
