I would pull for UNC on the condition that if they were to win they would all (entire athletic team and undergraduate population including alumni), within 5 minutes of the clock running out, commit suicide by slitting their own throats on National Television and if I were in conjunction with this promise also paid about 2.5 million dollars.

Only then would I root for UNC. Conceit is the absolute worst character trait. I have more tolerance for serial killers than I do for UNC undergraduates.

Certainly not this season.

There's something very wrong with the way these teams are being covered and announced nationally.

I knew it's been like this forever, but this year, it's just terrible.

GT gave UNC-CH a good game. Same for Clemson. And Maryland isn't looking bad right now.

But they aren't giving these other teams any respect. It's like Chapel Hill is the only team that matters in the ACC.

All praise given to other teams is with respect to Chapel Hill. "Excellent play by Gist. And that's what it's going to take to beat this top-ranked Carolina. It's the only way to get it done against this superb basketball team. Let's take another look at that Lawson play from six minutes ago..."

Even if they lose, even if every fucking team in the ACC beats them...we'll still have to hear about them all the time. How awesome they played in the beginning. What happened to their team. What's on tap for next year. How Roy is handling losing. Who's going pro. Blah, blah, blah...

We can't stop this madness.

alright, not that i really care about this thread, but since i'm pissed off about the game i'm gonna say it. what about the actual TEAM do you hate so much? ok they get some calls, but it's not like the players really throw a fit about it. hansbrough might travel occasionally and lose a contact, but he doesn't talk smack and rarely even shows any frustration. the players aren't boisterous and don't act like assholes or thugs. is there anything? or just other things that are related to the program that is out of the actual team's control? (media, fans, whatever)

Them and Duke are the only teams worth mentioning nationally from the ACC this year... and Duke gets slobbed plenty still.

Also, people aren't giving credit to Maryland or Ga Tech because they've been TERRIBLE this year... DREADFUL. Both coaches should be ashamed of the way they've played with the amount of talent each has...

All you gotta do is look at the highlights of the UNC/Maryland game on ESPN to see why we hate UNC. Count the highlights showing UNC being awesome, and then count the highlights of Maryland taking them to the woodshed. Then ask yourself, if you didn't know the result of the game, who you thought won? You'll swear UNC beat them by like 30 from the highlights. About the only thing they show of Maryland was the basket that put them ahead then the Hansblow miss and then Maryland celebrating.
