mine's this saturday at tavla rossa behind crabtree. good/free food + my drunken bosses buying me drinks = win.but i agree that its definitely important to at least show up to these events. last year I had a great time and started a couple good friendships with people around the office i didn't used to be in contact with.

my boyfriend and i ducked out of the dining room after dinner (it was also the company's 25th anniversary celebration, so there were lots of speeches) - the booze was outside of the dining room. and from what i hear that was like the best idea ever.though, i did end up talking to the CEO of the company while i was sitting on the floor trying to put my shoes back on - oops.
12/13/2007 9:34:12 PM

12/13/2007 9:34:41 PM
Two years ago the company I worked for did their Christmas party at Angus Barn... full open bar, order anything & everything you want. It was amazing... (too bad I was underage at the time). Wish I still worked there... the Christmas bonus was nice, too

At an office christmas party I went to, two employees ended up fucking each other. problem is, they were both married. the whole office found out about it.
12/12/2008 11:22:57 AM
I bet each of their wives were PISSED.
12/12/2008 11:23:38 AM
We're having ours today at lunch. Catered lunch from Boston Market and Dirty Santa. Woot.
12/12/2008 11:24:21 AM
our boss will not let us do that so we have to come on our own free time which i think sucks
12/12/2008 11:25:07 AM
Other than that, I don't have any good Christmas Party stories. I do however have SEVERAL good stories from various out of town training sessions I have attended.

LOL @ gunzz breaking mah internets again, like the third time this week.Anyways, a couple years back I was dancing with our receptionist and was pretty blitzed. I lifted up her dress for some reason. Our GM was ~5 feet from her and she wasn't wearing any skivvies. He gave me daps the next day and I had no clue why, haha.
12/12/2008 11:44:27 AM
your internets arent broken.....seems to me you posting just fine in this thread
12/12/2008 11:46:18 AM
i hate mine. every year its a pain for me to go because i'm the only 20something in the office and everyone else has families and kids. so there is a big section dedicated to giving presents to the kids. no one gets really drunk, because, well, there are a bunch of kids there. and it lasts from right after work until about 9.the food is okay but nothing to write home about. luckily this year we're doing a christmas lunch and then get to leave for home afterward.
12/12/2008 11:47:38 AM
Mah page, I meant the huge red box at the top. We had our Christmas party last week. Nothing exciting at all. I didn't even drink and drive.
12/12/2008 11:49:10 AM
mine's tomorrow night but we're not going...we have a family thing planned instead.
12/12/2008 11:51:18 AM
this is the first year in about 8 years without a christmas party
12/12/2008 12:12:02 PM
Got my wifes tonight. Small company, so its just at the owners house. Should be a good drinking time though.Next Friday is my part-time jobs. That one is pretty good. Lot of GOOD alcohol usually and good food. And get some bonuses as well.My main job is a state job, so our Christmas party is a nice catered lunch and revealing of secret santa. The food is delicious, but this is easily the most boring of the jobs parties. No bonus either, but we have been getting a gift card, so its still pretty good.My first big job used to rent out the whole Sheraton in Greensboro for a knockdown party for the whole state. It was pretty badass. The year I left they moved it to Charlotte and took away the free hotel rooms if you signed up. Said they were losing too much money on that, but if you signed up and didn't show, then they took it out your paycheck. Instead you could catch a bus at different places and ride to Charlotte, and then ride that thing back after the party that night. UGH. Glad I left that place, as the Christmas party was one of the only things they did halfway decent. The stupid present you got was AWFUL and it only got worse as I was there.[Edited on December 12, 2008 at 12:18 PM. Reason : ]

12/12/2008 2:46:21 PM
Went to my first of 3 or 4 work Christmas parties. Pretty nice time. Drank some beers, had a nice catered dinner, and had a good time. Anybody else got any stories from this year so far?
12/13/2008 2:48:25 PM
haha, I failed at rule 7 and 10 three years ago at my company's Christmas party. I brought a hot date , ended up dirty dancing with her on the dance floor and did some break dancing at the end. Most of the other employees are the family kind and middle aged so that's definately some contrast. I still hear about that night till this day.
12/13/2008 3:52:38 PM
our official party is tonight, but i'm not going. luckily i have a good excuse, i live in atlanta, and the party is about an hour away down in peachtree city. only 3 or 4 people including myself live inside the city and from what i understand they aren't going either. but the real reason i'm not going is that i'm the only person in the whole office that is not married, and everyone's idea of engaging conversation is either:a: how awesome god/church isb: good deals at walmartc: reasons obama is a terroristd: perpetual work talkno thank you.
12/13/2008 4:13:14 PM
my wife's is tonight at the biltmore in atlanta - ride is covered both ways - hopefully i don't get too drunk and embarrass her
12/13/2008 5:06:08 PM

12/13/2008 5:08:01 PM
the jackpot christmas party is in january
12/13/2008 5:09:47 PM
My companys party is tonight. In the past, its been open bar.Wasnt planning to get there when it started, but friend of mine did...texted me and said they are doing drink tickets...only 2. Im guessing the rest you pay for. I failed to RSVP to this thing, so I probably wouldnt even get the 2 tickets. Dont think Im going to bother now, as I think the open bar was the only reason I was interested in the first place.
12/13/2008 7:40:59 PM
^^^^do you mean asheville? where is there a biltmore in atlanta? i'm too lazy to look it up.
12/13/2008 7:47:30 PM
mine was last night...got drunk and talked shit to the boss' girlfriend about how the office manager is slack and should be fired. I'm sure the boss will hear about it
12/13/2008 11:48:34 PM
something tells me you'll be getting a promotion soon
12/13/2008 11:49:50 PM
we had ours Dec 5th. I asked my girl to marry me that night before the party I have enjoyed ours the last 2 years. 1500-2000 people come so they rent out all the ball rooms and floor space in a hyatt regency in downtown and have different themed food areas. japanese, italian, chinese, spanish with a pretty big bar and some entertainment. Its nice, I was surprised they went all out again this year, but I'm glad they did because it ended up being a great night for me and the girl
