at the vet clinic where i work, one day about a year ago, a person off the street ran in and joyfully said they had just seen a deer, and that it had even gone into and left the foodlion nearby. about 2 minutes later someone came in and said a deer had crashed through the window of the Wingman restaurant nearby (which was closed at the time for remodeling or something).

one of our vet techs crawled through the glass to get to the dear and access the situation, we called all the appropriate authorities & a wildlife rehabilitation person whose warning was don't let whatever group first responds overdose the dear on tranquilizers (something about how it would keep it from being able to heal, or destroy its kidney, or something bad would happen), but by that time the cops & others had shown up & over tranqed it, so they asked one of our vets to put it down.
