what, the problem with an air marshal who can shoot any terrorist at all? Where's the problem with that? If, however, you are noting an alleged inconsistency with me talking about those who aren't screened, there is FAR more scrutiny placed on an air marshal when he is hired than there is on the hot dog vendor at the airport.

That reminds me of something totally stupid that I saw at the airport. I was over to the side, putting my shoes back on after having been anally probed at the airport, and I looked over and saw an Indian guy getting the third degree (dot, not tomahawk). I gave him a (yeah, I know it sux. sorry ) look, to which he returned a "thanks" kind of a smile. But then, I looked back at the metal detector / anal probing station, and I saw who else was traveling with him, and all of them were getting ready for the third degree as well. It was his mother, father, two sisters (I guessed), and his three children (all below the age of 5). Forgive me, but that is NOT the profile of a man that is about to blow up a plane or hijack it. And yet, there he was, getting practically strip searched because he was brown. And to top it off, he wasn't even the RIGHT COLOR of brown.

So yes, the TSA is fucking stupid.

Well Paul pretty much believes that abortion is the murder of another human being. But he wants the issue taken out of the federal gov't's hands and returned to the states. He feels that the states are more responsive to the people's will.

On almost any political subject, libertarians want to defer decisions to the smallest legislative body.
The smallest being, of course, the individual.

You need to read the article and think about it, instead of flipping out on your anti-liberal knee-jerks.

As someone computed earlier, this is 1%. I HIGHLY doubt that this is better than just randomly pulling people for screening.

And your imaginary scenario where a sweat-drenched guy slips through would never happen. Even without this program, in the normal course of operations, someone like that would get scrutinized.

But, for your little bit of feigned security, almost 70,000 people have to be detained and interrogated for absolutely no reason. That is what's wrong with this policy. Someone spent a lot of time and a lot of money (your money if you fly, and everyone's money if they were federally funded) to "train" these officers to perform a task that they failed at 99% of the time. I can't see how anyone, liberal or conservative, wouldn't be against such an idiotic waste of money.

If it was even 10% or 15% or anything above random sampling, it might be worth it, but it's not even near that.
