Decent place to live, but expensive. Nightlife? Maybe, I don't go to Front St, so I didn't see any. Fun? Only if you go to the beach a lot.

All of the roads are designed for about a fifth of the traffic that they currently have. This is compounded by the drivers in Wilmington. There are 3 general types of drivers there: 1) Tourists that don't know what they're doing and are very erratic. 2) College students that don't give a damn and expect you to yield to them at all times. 3) Retirees from "up north" that pretend they're still in NY or Philly. Another traffic consideration is that nobody uses turn signals, so you need to be psychic.

There's also the cat-piss smell that can be pretty heavy during the mornings. I think the Star News ran an article mentioning that smell, and the city said it's just swamp gas, despite there being no swamps nearby.

north end of carolina beach. oh the memories. before they started charging to drive on it and every fucker with a 4wd decided to go there. Now we just say fuck it and get in the boat to go camp on one of the islands around masonboro.

Traffic does defintiely suck, worst than Raleigh. You can thank all the damn yankees for that and ruining everything. It's still a great place to live, but just a little more frusterating than it use to be. And like was said depends on where you live if it'll be fun, cheap, etc. And if you move here find a friend w/ a boat ASAP cause driving to the beach against all the yankees is about as fun as hitting yourself in the face w/ a brick

traffic really isnt that bad if you know what backroads to take (Masonboro Loop, Greenville Loop, Masonboro Sound, etc.)

I loved living in wilmington, and I miss the beach like crazy living up here (going to a damn pool in the summer =/= having your toes in the sand), but there sure are has been a huge influx of wigger thugs ever since I was in high school and it has only got worse

Lived there for 3 years. Got a job at the age of 25 in Wilmington. Lived in Monkey Junction and Carolina beach. Some of the best memories of my life, but I oddly don't miss the city that much

agree with this.

I lived there from 2004ish until 2008. Great memories but not my ideal place for adult life. After i graduated College kids get old and lack of job opportunities is what pushed me away. Don't miss it much but everytime i go back to swing by the south college sandwich deli. mmm.
