I agree with that. The difference is, car insurance isnt nearly as expensive as health insurance, but I agree for the most part. You can also get by without the car. I had a small fender bender a few months back, and paid for it myself w/out claiming it on insurance, because they keep track of that shit and will drop you if you have too many claims.

Also, you dont pay 100 dollars for a 100 dollar procedure if you dont use insurance. You pay something like 30...idk the exact correlation but you get the idea. That also changes depending on what the procedure is.

burro, I didn't make that point earlier but I am aware that Edwards paid for his 30 million dollar mansion in chapel hill by suing doctors. That, combined with insurance profits, have driven the cost of healthcare sky high. Edwards could not find a doctor in NC to treat his wife for cancer because of the lawsuits he's pursued. Thats fucked up, but he is a grade A piece of shit no doubt.

^you are right about paying for it yourself bc they will raise your rates. Thats how insurance works. It spreads risks. IF you are more of a risk, you pay more. So there is an incentive to take better care of yourself.

My wife's health ins is about 100/month. 1500 deductible. Not bad. However, when you expect to pay nothing for drs visits, nothing for ERs, nothing out of pocket, nothing for meds...yeah the price might go up a bit.
