Just that there are ways we can compete, and I just think it would help to get some guys in with a chip on their shoulder about being passed over by Duke and UNC. And not sure why looking at continueing to bring in foreign players is such a bad idea, it is one of the ways that Baylor has rebuilt.

but seriously, i don't really care what is written about us this year. our team was faced with unrealistic expectations, and now we're getting shit for it. i know others bought into the thought that we'd be awesome - i did, gavin grant did, etc. - but the fact remains that we ARE mediocre this year. the good thing is, we're improving and i think we can still have a good run for the rest of the season and acc tourney, and i still think we'll make the ncaa tourney this year. maybe i'm being too optimistic, but i could care less about this one article.

NCSU competes with other schools to get the best recruits.
The best recruits compete with each other to get into Duke or Carolina.

Take the top 10 recruits from around the nation from any year and see how many have an interest in Duke/UNC vs NC State. Superstars from Oregon or California don't include State on their top 5 list-but likely have interest in UNC or Duke.

^ thats true, look at singler, nelson, A. stephenson, Q. Thomas and a number of upcoming UNC recruits, alot are from the west coast. we only get looks from places like pennsylvania, NJ, Tha Bronx etc.

For 2009... 19 of the top 40 (front page of scout) have commited to UNC or are interested. Only 4 for NC State. But 3 of those 4 weren't interested in UNC so thats good at least.

They have 5 PF's commited for the next 2 years, and 2 PGs..of course all 4 and 5 star, unfortunately that makes a pretty good team.

Well, of those 19 interested in UNC, only 5-7 will land there, so at least we have that going for us.

(crosses fingers) State will get some big-time recruits soon, ones that spurn the "better" teams ala OJ Mayo . Sid will no doubt help in that with his NBA experience

Actually I think State has a very good shot next year, because I think they'll be a better team than now, and hopefully UNC will lose Hansbrough, Ellington and/or Lawson. But since UNC has already signed 3 for next year, I can't imgaine them having many more scholarships with only Quentin Thomas leaving. Oh, and if Hickson stays. Then hopefully some 2009 and 2010 commits will come in.

We just need to reboot the athletics department in general. All of our sports are pretty much shit with th exception of wrestling and track. All of our sports have remained shit for quite sometime.

I think we need to 'let' Lee Fowler go to another school and hire a more aggressive AD who will then go and revamp all other sports.

We can't blame facilities anymore and we can't really keep eating coaches we hire.
