Well, if it makes you feel any better, Strom Thurmond was 3rd in line for the Presidency when he was President Pro-Tem of the Senate. 1/30/2008 1:46:39 PM |

I'm saying the American president can't go around saying shit like that, especially when said "gooks" make up a percentage of the constituency. " |
While he shouldn't have used the word "gook", he was referring to his prison guards. Not a group or race of people.
Well here's a more recent quote from McCain about Vietnam:
I put the Vietnam War behind me a long time ago," McCain said at the time. "But I harbor no anger nor rancor. I'm a better man for my experience, and I'm grateful for having the opportunity of serving."1/30/2008 3:55:00 PM |

you have got to be fucking kidding me.
He's the most fiscally conservative out of all remaining contenders, save Ron Paul.
and no way on God's green Earth he picks Lieberman as a running mate.1/30/2008 4:13:20 PM |

I'd prefer McCain to Hillary or Obama, to be honest.
Depending on his running mate. 1/30/2008 4:59:05 PM |

Dear BRANDON, In the past, I know I could count on you to be a strong supporter. Together, we ran an honorable campaign, based on issues like tax cuts and keeping America on offense against radical Islamic terrorism. Together, we were able to make an impact on the American political landscape. We can be proud of all we accomplished.
I have often said that had I not entered the race, there is one candidate who would have my complete support. I am proud to endorse my dear friend - an American hero - Senator John McCain.
Help John to the finish line! Your gift of $10, $25, $50 or $100 will give John McCain the tools necessary to capture the Republican nomination on February 5th.
As our next President, John McCain will be ready from day one to lead our nation. John McCain understands the challenges we face both here and abroad. Whether it's the need to stay on the offense in the Terrorist's War against us or the desperate need to cut wasteful spending in Washington, John McCain will get it done.
John McCain and I share a similar vision for the challenges facing our nation and our party. John is the only Republican candidate who can run a campaign in all 50 states and who can break through the "Red State / Blue State" divide in modern American politics.
With your help, I am hopeful that we can secure John McCain's nomination very soon so we can unite the Republican Party, and then begin the process of uniting our nation.
On to Victory!
Sincerely,
Rudy Giuliani " |

^ I'm with you on that.
I've always considered myself a Republican, but as I've gotten older I've become much more moderate in my social views. I can almost support Obama, but I completely disagree with his views on Iraq.
The country will not be as safe as it is now if a democrat is elected President. 2/5/2008 12:43:43 PM |

I mean seriously. Why can't we get some one who wants to eliminate the national debt, crack down on frivolous government spending, focus on national issues instead of playing world police, is a social liberal (I mean seriously...who give a fuck if Bob marries Gary) and isn't in the pockets of big business. It sounds so simple to me yet we have no one who is willing to step up. Its very frustrating!! 2/5/2008 1:07:41 PM |

I am in the same boat as you Sparky, unfortunately a lot of Democrats want something for nothing and need to be angry all the time and a lot of Republicans want to control what you do in the privacy of your own home.
I would like Ron Paul if he wasn't completely insane on issues such as national security and federal reserve banking.

I am sure the republicans will just forget half of their base and nominate McCain and Rudy for the ticket,
I think a more likely possibility is Huckabee + McCain; to me, Romney is too much of a cookie-cutter candidate. 2/5/2008 7:06:36 PM |

I'm going to guess McCain and Huckabee. It looks like Huckabee is content with adopting the role of taking votes away from Romney, or in other words, buttering up McCain so he'll choose him as his running mate. 2/5/2008 7:58:09 PM |
