she also likes to sit between the shower curtain and liner to watch me shower. however, in my new house i have a shower with glass doors so there is nowhere to go. the first time i showered in it she just paced back and forth looking at me with sadness and confusion.

she follows me around the house and comes when called.

i know!!! i've only had callie for 2 (wow time flies) but she is the only constant. and i know she'll be with me for the next 12 or so! she is so cute <3 her to death. i want another cat. and a dog. but my condo is too small---that would be like an animal farm

I'm surprised that there wasn't a "countdown till bethaleigh comes to talk about Grits"!!
Grits: (look around, you'll find pics of him lots of places on here!)
-only eats catfood, chicken and catfish
-fetches with either leather mice or jingle balls
-thinks he's the alpha of all animals at my parents house - he'll smack their 110 lb. Husky anytime he wants
-opens doors to be in the same room with me. bathroom, bedroom, whatever.
-tries to cover his food, even though it sits on a laminate floor
-recently learned the fine art of covering poop (FINALLY!!!)
-LOVES and will fight you over yogurt
-wathes me get ready in the mornings, sits on the counter and watches me put on make up
-will try to lick neosporin off your cuts
-knows what "go ask your Daddy/Mommy" means and will actually go to who ever you tell him to
-sleeps on me every night, either on my feet or snuggled between me and my 'hug pillow
-lays in the bathtub after I get out when its all wet. I leave suds so that he smells good
-does this crazy clicky/whine noise at birds and bugs
-LOOOVES Greenies, knows the sound of the bag, and he will attack you if you don't give them to him in a timely manner
-has a fettish for rubber fishing worms, he'll fetch them and will slowly eat pieces of it
-will attack my hair if I have it put up
-comes when I call his name, clap, and whistle if he is outside. But he does it covertly if it is light outside. He will slip off and slowly come back during the day, and eventually, like by the 3rd call, he'll be under the porch and he'll look at me with that "What? I've been right here the whole time" look.
-opened a heavy wooden drawer on an old, old night stand in order to get his ounce of catnip out, rip it open, spread it out, and do the Scrooge McDuck roll all over it. There's pics of that one here too!
-extremely friendly and anyone can hold him. Althought, he cops an attitude when he's at my parent's house around other animals.
-used to have a red spoon that he LOVED that came from Dairy Queen
-is my baby, and he knows it!

Of course he does! He comes and smells my deer when I bring them home. Hmmm, maybe that's why he won't eat deer meat. He knows that I love him too much for him to ever need to fear the guns!

i left my cat alone this weekend to go snowboarding. she is so hyper right now. she's on my bed making strange noises and chasing her tail. a second ago she chased her tail so aggressively that she rolled off the bed. then she jumped back on...but she like sprang up from the floor with her tail poofed, eyes dialated, and her legs sprawled out. and she jumped really high in the air. and said "raaaaaaaar."

it is going to be a long day.

My kitten was trying to wake me up for breakfast this morning, which he does by nibbling on whatever parts of my face he can get to (usually my hair, beard, earlobes, nose, or eyebrow). So I scoop him up and put him under the covers with me hoping I might get him to settle down and buy another 5 minutes of sleep. So what does he do?

He gave me a dutch oven!!!

Motherfucker has the worst gas of any person, dog, or cat I've ever smelled before! He's usually good about not doing it around me and only farts on/around my roommates. There's actually been one time where he was laying with me on the couch, he got up, went over to one of my roommates and farted, then came back and laid with me. I love him to death.

I'm living with my ex, but now I'm sleeping on the twin bed in the guest bedroom, instead of in the queen with him.

I really like my space, and I haven't slept in a twin for several years. I'm still learning to not lay diagonally.

This damn cat insists on, when I'm falling asleep, lying in front of me, as close to my boobs as she can - if possible, with me holding her.

So every time I roll over, she gets out from under the covers, walks over my head, and paws at the covers to be let in again.

My parents got me Garfield when I was in 1st grade and he lived until 3 years ago (when I was 21). He had some strange quirks too.

-only ate dry cat food and green beans...he would fight you over green beans
-loved riding in boxes...if there was an empty box, he would go climb in it and meow until you pushed him around a few times
-went crazy over balloon strings
-would purposely get outside during the night...then come to my parents' bedroom window and meow until my dad got up to go get him...then he would lead my dad on a chase for a few minutes before he would finally come in
-every single morning my dad and Garfield went through a ritual...my dad would head for the kitchen door to leave for work...Garfield would leap from the chest freezer, under the kitchen table, and pop out from under the table in the chair that was closest to the kitchen door...then he would sail on my dad and attack him...never claws out or anything, but it was funny to watch

-loves to groom me when it is time to get up (7:15 every morning without fail)

they both watch me take a shower
groom each other (littermates)
will only play with toys together
they follow me around
love to go for car rides, they will get in the carrier together and close the door

Our new kitten has already developed quirks

- Has to lick my feet every time I get out of the shower. She sits on the floor in front of the shower and waits on me to get out. Then the licking begins.
- Loves to chase Mario on TV when we play with our SNES. She doesn't give a crap about the TV unless Mario is on the screen
- Every night gets in our bed and attacks our feet until she falls asleep. Or she roots in between the mattress and the wall and runs back and forth until she passes out.
- Tries to cover her water up (even thought it's on a tile floor) if it's more than an hour old. She only drinks it if it's fresh out of the sink.
- Meows for us to push her around in a baby stroller. She climbs in and freaks out until you push her.
- Plays "attack the hands" every night before bed. She likes to wrestle with our hands and wont leave us alone until we wrestle with her.
- Gives my face a bath every night before bed.
- Is a potato chip addict. If someone comes in our home and has consumed chips within the past hour or two, she knows it and licks their hands. If someone eats chips here, she picks up every single crumb she can find. She only does this with chips. The other day I ate some chips and washed my hands then came and typed on the keyboard. Apparently I still had chips on my hand because she immediately began licking the keyboard.

We've only had her for two weeks, so I know this is only the beginning.

Can't you people keep a reign on a freaking cat?
*My cat doesn't use a litter box - he goes out to do his business.
*When inside he's allowed on the beds, chairs, couch, and floor. Violations warrant removal from the house until the next morning, but are extremely rare.
*He sleeps either in the computer chair, beside the bed, or wrapped around the bumps feet make under the covers. Chasing them will warrant expedited removal from the bed, and usually will leave them alone now.
*4AM playtime is fair (he's on guard duty), but waking house members is not. Usually after the first time he hears his name he chills out and goes to chill under a bed or sharpen claws on the rug where he doesn't wake people.

The only quirk I can think of is he likes to stare at the dog through the front door glass. Consequently about 3 times a week the dog is waiting for him on the back porch when he goes out. Luckily the cat can climb trees (where he naps as the dog circles below until something more interesting to the dog happens - like a squirrel spotted on the ground.)

my cat caesar: he's a 100% outdoor cat. hes got a lot of fur, so he gets dreadlocks from being outside and getting dirty/bloody

1. is the angel of death
2. he brings me offerings every time i come home of his kills for the day
3. if he's really happy, he'll dissect them for me, by individual organs, and discard the body. (think egyptian burial)
4. he defends his turf. he's killed stray cats.
5. i saw him one-shot an opossum. just punched his head, then pounced on the back of his neck...then i heard a *crack* dead opossum.
6. i saw him jump 8ft in the air at night to catch a bat. he got rabies shots the next day.
7. rarely needs to be fed with store-bought food. he'll come to the door and hang on the screen if he's hungry.
8. i saw him collaborate with his brothers, zado and flames, to decimate an entire rabbit family.
9. never climbs trees for some reason, but his brother toby is never not in a tree.

he likes me, but he doesn't need anyone. he's nice if he's around. he bit me once when i was petting him...i didn't know that under his thick fur he was wounded or sore, and i touched it. he got pissed and taught me how stigmata feels. i still have the scar.

you people and your indoor cats.

when I was a kid, we had 3 cats and 3 dogs. Our cats never did any crazy stuff like this. They spent 1/2 of the time outside and when inside laid around and slept. They were cool and let you pet them but not too much.

When my ex and I lived together for 2 years her cat would do shit like this and it was the first time I had seen a cat do insane cat things:
-lick plastic bags
-had to be in the room where she was just to see what she was doing and would then leave.
-would get on the counter, meow until you looked at him and would then knock off a glass or cup whether it was full or not.
-would attack your feet in the morning to wake you up at like 6am. It just tickled because he did it with his fuzzy little declawed paws.
-Had a weird noiseless meow that he would do when looking at birds out the window.
-loved to look outside but freaked the fuck out if he ever got outside. He would hide and panic after he got out there, saw what it was like and realized he didn't know what to do. When you opened the door he would bolt back in.
-Had tufts of fur growing out between his toes that were longer than the fur on his toes. Sort of like this but with more coming out on the tops of his paws.


When she was moving out of her apartment, her brother left the door open and the cat (pooh bear) ran off. She tries to find him and calls me in tears because she has to leave to go with her brothers to move all her stuff to High Point. One of her brothers a dick and says "It's just a fucking cat. Let's go." I come over and help them move a couple things and start looking for the cat when they leave. I check the house to make sure he's not in there. He's not. I look around for about an hour and decide to go back and look in the house again just to make sure he's not in there. I'm checking through it and look under the mattress that was left and he's up inside the box springs looking back at me. Little fucker. I checked in there so he must've run back inside when all the commotion calmed down.

I called my gf's new apartment complex and had them leave a note on her door that I found her cat. I got lots of head for doing that for her.

Nina:

- Tries to eat food with her "hands." She'll pick up morsels with her paw and try to eat them out of her paw.
- Always reaches in and pulls a few morsels out onto the floor and then eats off the floor.
- Sleeps on her back
- Sleeps on my clothes.
- If I have nasty, sweat covered clothes, she buries her head in them and starts rolling around on them.
- She stands up when I put my hand above her head and pushes her head into my hand.
- She stands up to peak around corners if there's something scary outside.
- Uses paws to knock over anything with liquid in it, just to see it spill everywhere.
- Uses paws to knock around water dispensing unit, just to see it spill everywhere.
- Crawls into any available open drawer. I've shut her in them by accident a few times as a kitten, she still does it but she's too big to hide in the back of them now.
- Jumps up onto door frame, slides up it like a monkey and then hangs on to it for a while (Will get up to 6 feet in the air using the door frame).
- Likes meemaw snacks.

Billie:

- Sleeps in my lap only when I'm sitting on the computer chair.
- "Barks/Clicks" at wildlife.
- Stands on the ledge of the tub/shower on the other side of the curtain whenever I'm taking a shower.
- Sometimes stands up to rub her head against my hand. But she wont stand up all the way like Nina will.
- Eats electrical cords. I have two destroyed cell phone chargers, a destroyed USB camera cord, a destroyed weather radio power cord, a destroyed cable modem power cord and numerous other damaged cords to prove it.
- Eats shoe strings.
- Sleeps in sink.
- Jumps up onto door frame, slides up it like a monkey and then hangs on to it for a while (Will get up to 6 feet in the air using the door frame).
- Likes meemaw snacks.

my cat is now sitting in the window sill in front of my desk (desk faces out the window where she is sitting) trying to pull markers/pens/pencils etc out of my pencil holder. really she is just biting them and hitting the pencil holder over and over again and looking pretty retarded.

she loves desks. when she goes home all she does is stay in my dad's office with him on his desk. except when the printer comes on she SPRINTS over to it. she loves to watch the paper go in and out in and out in and out.

my older cat:
1. is fat because he eats all of his food and then the younger cat's food.
2. makes people who generally don't like cats like them. my friends will always say, "i normally don't like cats but i like this one a lot."
3. welcomes people by jumping on their lap and showing them affection the minute they sit in the living room
4. knocks only 1 pillow flat (from sitting up) so he has something to sit on when he lays in his favorite chair.
5. cannot figure out how to purr so instead he breathes really hard in and out of his nose when he's happy.
6. stands guard in whatever room whenever the younger cat is doing something wrong.
7. tries to sleep on the top of my pillow over my head.
8. paws at my face when he wants food in the morning.
9. licks my legs in the morning when i wake up.
10. if i pick up his front legs, he reaches back and stretches.

the younger cat:
1. is a spaz and hates to be picked up but loves to cuddle at night.
2. loves to cuddle so much that i find myself spooning her in the middle of the night.
3. purrs loudly all the time....even when eating. probably also when pooping.
4. eats headphones. ipod headphones are her favorite.
5. eats avocados i leave on the counter.
6. waits in the bathroom until i'm done showering so she can hop in and play in the wet tub.
7. bangs on the wood blinds in my bedroom in the morning when she's hungry.
8. tries to eat whatever i am eating.
