"I wear all the much needed gear and prepare to die"

This "dumbass" comment was prolly the smartest thing I have said in this whole damn thread...

When I mean prepare to "die" I meant I dress like I am gonna go down, meaning I wear my leather jacket, leather pants, boots and carbon fiber gloves...

The wreck I got in, I was wearing spandex and and tank top and was very much lucky I didn't end up with more road rash. That wreck there pretty much stomped my ass in the ground.. It was nothing Ivan went through but it could have been pretty bad, which encouraged me to get a full suit.

I think some of you guys are just being dumb and trying to take what I say and skew it into something interesting or into something that would make me sound dumb and then you can be like "Ha ha I am such a smart ass"

Kyle has a lot to talk about.... How about I find the thread where you were all like "Blah blah I am drinking and riding" to get my attention... I swear to God your are the dumbest person alive...

Jeez you guys thrive on f'in drama... My hard on comes from riding

But back to my point: and this has been discussed before.. Some people are adrenaline junkies and some enjoy sitting on TWW all day... Nah I am kidding for some of you. There is nothing wrong with living on the safe side...

Why the hell are you going to get a sport bike if you can't open it up a little and play with danger... If you don't like to speed and take tight turns at 80+, then maybe you should trade your speed demon for a puttin cruiser..."

That statement just defined the word squid

I own a sportbike.......
The street is completely boring to me, I refuse to ride on the street, if I cant go wide open I would rather stay at home. I play with danger all the time, ive been faster around corners than you have on the straits. The main difference between you and me is.... I one hundred percent without a doubt respect the bike. Your statements lead me to think that you dont respect a machine that is likely gonna make you regret your choices one day

concur, other than I'll still ride on the street (albeit a lot more laid back than I did before my first 4 wrecks, haha).

Wait a second here...look at the people who are telling you to check yourself. We're all extremely aggressive risk takers, to include our motorcycle riding. I know BigBlueRam and I each have a number of other things on our "adrenaline junkie" list beyond the realm of riding the bejeezus out of fast motorcycles...don't know about P Nis and the others, but I wouldn't be surprised. I mean, I could get killed in my job on even the most routine day, or in any other of a bunch of other activities that I do. It's hardly a group of nannies that are telling you to use your head and not get yourself dead or AFU.

They preach this sort of decision making in my line of work. It gets annoying sometimes, and we look at it basically institutionalized common sense, but maybe sometimes a formal decision matrix is necessary, and it looks like this is one of those times.

We're not in the business of being risk averse. We're in the business of managing risk in an intelligent manner. Ask yourself, "How likely is this to cause me big problems?" Then, "How severe are those problems likely to be?" Finally, "Is the potential reward from doing it worth the risk, based on the likelyhood and potential severity of the consequences?"

If the answer is "no", either don't do it or find ways to mitigate the risk down to an acceptable level--keep applying the same process of questions until you are satisfied with the outcome.

it has nothing to do with you being a girl. it has everything to do with inexperience. overconfidence is a motorcyclist's worst enemy.

Quote :

that statement just proved that you have no idea about what you are doing on a motorcycle and that you have no respect for one. if you wreck you'll be very lucky if you can get on a bike again much less have the desire to.

i wish you luck in your future of riding but please stay away the wakefield area. i don't want to have to pick you up off the street because it's coming.

oh, and btw, you do realize that the person who called you a squid is a pro rider, right?

The only time I really ride on the street is to get from point A to point B and thats mostly to campus because I can park for free. Otherwise if I even try to ride around Raleigh, I am liable to get stomped in the ground. I trailer my bike into the country, more so towards Davey and Forsyth County. Lots of nice turns and no cars. I do not like to go on the interstate with my bike; its really boring nad not the safest thing to do.

So your telling me when you take your bike out you speed.. maybe just a little... That also implies to me that you do what a sportbike is meant to. So basically you told me you enjoy taking turn relatively fast, which is exactly what I like to do. So how is that being a squid?

My picture of being a squid is Kyle Dorrey on his drinking rampage wearing a t shirt, cargo shorts and flip flops and doing wheelies on the interstate and splitting lanes.

Ha! "Look at me, I am a dumb Meridith girl that thrives on drama and has nothing else to do with my life except whine and bitch to my other Meridith friends who whine and bitch back" Your pathetic... Believe me my beu gives me all the needed attention.

THe purpose of my thread is to spread the word on this event and brag to everyone that I am finally going to the track to try and get better.

i'm pretty sure he was talking about riding on the track

and if he even rides on the street, i don't get the impression that he has a totally retarded mindset about it or gross misjudgement of his own capabilities.

jesus christ. reasons i don't have a motorcycle: everyone is an idiot, & you have to almost die or get your leg torn off to realize how dangerous they are. thanks everyone.

Too much crazyness on this board. I ride often enough, but not at the limits many of you are talking about, yes ive been well over triple digits, yes ive had my times going through the corners and nearly biting it going to fast, and yes ive wrecked one.

Maybe im a pussy but since my last wreck, and watching both my brother and father wipe out, i no longer have the interest in "pushing" it anymore. Since all that I will be the first to say that my current bike "speed wise" scares the shit out of me. I use to push my old 600RR but not this one. It gets leaned over in the corners far enough to drag the pegs a bit thats it, but other than that i guess i now drive like an old lady.

Pushing it is definately a great adrenaline rush but at this point to me anyway, not even remotely worth the risk. For those of you that talk about pushing it that hard on the streets i will say this. Its not if you will pay the price, its going to be when. Good luck to you.
