This team is looking stout. I was appprehensive of Dempster making the switch to starter but he has been the real deal Holyfield, 3-0 in 4 starts with his only ND coming in 7 innings of one-hit baseball. I am really really stoked. Also, I <3 DLee.

^ true. The only thing I can say is that I am somewhat wary, due to the fact that half of our wins have come against the pirates, who suck. But the cubs are really playing well, just a thought

I can agree although 2 straight sweeps of any team is rare. What bothers me is that, although it didn't really affect the game due to it being a blowout, the bullpen is giving up late inning runs.

Pirates are pretty awful, but its nice to have the Cubs up .5 game early in the year than playing catchup like usual.

Reed Johnson needs to take one in the throat if hes going to lean in to everything.. That HBP was like two inches off the plate...

Big win tonight. Heck of an 8th.

Reed Johnson covers the plate, but Heilman balks. We're even.

Cubs come back to beat the Rockies tonight.

Per ESPN, it is the 10000th win in the history of the Chicago Cubs franchise. The only other team to have reached that milestone was the New York/San Francisco Giants.

Big series starts against the D'backs tomorrow night, the team that swept them in the playoffs.. It would be an excellent sign if the cubs could get 2 of 3

Went to my first Cubs game at Wrigley tonight. It was awesome...except they lost, and it poured down raining most of the night. Luckily we were under the grandstand. Wrigley was amazing though

^ that's great man. Now just imagine if you were there in July with temps in the low 80's and a clear bright sunny day game in the bleachers.

I bet a tiny bit on the underdog Astros to carry on with the win from last night.

I lost my bet.

I just got bleacher tickets for the Memorial Day game vs. LA. Well worth the $90.

Never been to Wrigley before, but I can't think of anything better than sitting in the bleachers for a Memorial Day afternoon game at Wrigley. Unless it rains, of course.

Interesting stat: This is the first time the Cubs have been 1st in MLB on June 1 since 1908. Let's do more things that haven't been done since that year!

Go, Cubs, Go
Go, Cubs, Go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say?
The Cubs are gonna win today

Trying for a 3rd consecutive sweep tonight. Here's to hoping that Lilly pulls it together and cotts / hart can pick it up after last night's shitfest.

this is in no way directed at 'real' cubs fans.... but I know way too many 'me too' cubs fans coming out of the woodwork that I loved this article...

if the cubs can win it all - at least we wont see as many red sox fans around here, eh?
(the A's will surprise everyone tho)

Highway robbery. Murton and Patterson are scrubs at best. Gallagher MAY turn out to be solid.

Gallager sucks, he made me some dollars fading the cubbies when he was pitching.. he's a good triple A player at best.

If Rich Hill hadn't collapsed, this could be the best starting 5 in baseball:

Z
Dempster
Harden
Lilly
Hill

Marquis has good days and has bad days. I'd love to see Samardjiza in that 5th spot next year. It's easy being a Chicago fan right now. Here's to hoping that Wood is as good as he was earlier in the year when he comes back. And that Howry gets demoted when he does.

Go Cubs Go
