^What, are you fucking stupid?
...There is no save against magic missile.

Anyway, this entire chain of events coming from the Clinton campaign is making her look like a petty child, and I really hope the voters are seeing it as such. I might have had some degree of respect for her (not liking or agreement with, but at least respect) before all this bullshit, but now it's gone.

jbtillery,

But how exactly was this being "circulated"? What the fuck does that even mean? Drudge doesn't say. Were a few staffers sending it to each other in an inter-office e-mail? Or were they actually handing out this thing to people as part of their campaign literature?

The difference is fucking huge and no one in the media has really cleared it up. Instead the entire "story" has been Obama's reaction to the photos and Hillary's re-action to the re-action.

I'd say that the method of "circulation" is now irrelevant given the fact that Obama's camp, Clinton's camp, and everyone in America that is paying a bit of attention has now seen this.

I think their response pretty much confirms that they were indeed circulating the photo - whatever the method. Now the question becomes "Why were they circulating it?" I think the answer is pretty obvious and once you have the answer to that question you'll also have the answer to "Who are the people they would most likely circulate this to?"

Originally, I guess there is a chance that the photo was only intended to be circulated within Clinton's camp. In that case I can only imagine that it was intended to mock Obama, or maybe it was a "feeler" for how good the photo could serve as an attack. To some extent, I guess it worked out for them in the end.

Also found this:

"CLINTON STAFFERS CIRCULATE 'DRESSED' OBAMA
Mon Feb 25 2007 06:51:00 ET

With a week to go until the Texas and Ohio primaries, stressed Clinton staffers circulated a photo over the weekend of a "dressed" Barack Obama.

The photo, taken in 2006, shows Obama dressed as a Somali Elder, during his five-country tour of Africa.

"Wouldn't we be seeing this on the cover of every magazine if it were HRC?" questioned one campaign staffer, in an email obtained by the DRUDGE REPORT."

Clintonite Stabs Obama Supporter

Cops: Man assaulted brother-in-law during political argument

FEBRUARY 25--Meet Jose Antonio Ortiz. The Pennsylvania man allegedly stabbed his brother-in-law in the stomach after the pair quarreled about their respective support of Democratic presidential candidates Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. According to cops, Ortiz, 28, stabbed Sean Shurelds last Thursday night in the kitchen of an Upper Providence Township home. According to a criminal complaint, a copy of which you'll find here, the 41-year-old Shurelds, an Obama supporter, told Ortiz that the Illinois senator was "trashing" Clinton (apparently in regard to recent primary and caucus results). Ortiz, a Clinton supporter, replied that "Obama was not a realist." While not exactly fighting words, the verbal political tiff led to some mutual choking and punching. And, allegedly, a stabbing in the abdomen. Ortiz, pictured in the mug shot below, was charged with a felony aggravated assault count and two misdemeanors and jailed in lieu of $20,000 bail. Shurelds was flown to Hahnemann University Hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition.

If the motivation for distributing this photo were in any doubt, her campaign's talking points after the photo have left no doubt. Clinton's surrogates keep making comments such as, "Why would he be embarrassed to be shown in his native attire." Their intention is clear: to insinuate that Obama is unAmerican because of his father's African heritage. This is a return to the Clinton politics of race-baiting seen in South Carolina, and she should be ashamed.

I think it will backfire again.

I haven't read through the thread to see whether this has been disputed yet or not. But from first glance at that article, my previous understanding is that the "untrue" assertions made by Obama about HRC's positions on Health Care, NAFTA, and Iraq were all, in fact, true. However, I'll read through the thread to see if I'm wrong about that.

^They are all true. The Hilary camp has basically said that NAFTA was Bill's decision, not hers (although she publicly championed NAFTA, and is running on her "experience" as a part of Bill's administration).

Lets see, check, miss (no bailout talk tonight), check, check, check. LOL

BTW, Hillary is done.

The one thing that I think got obama that will come up again is when he said if he had intel that AQ was building up in iraq he would go back in to protect the US. That could come back to bite him.

Other than that, he handled himself very presidentially. I wish I just agreed with his policy.(Which i feel to be a complete disaster).

What policies obama actually gets to implement is up to republicans in congress. Obama is much more likely to compromise and work out deals. It's up to republicans to start behaving like actual conservatives in order to pull obama to the middle.

Just be glad that the president won't be hillary because it would be 4-8 years of her bitching about how republicans won't listen to her every command.

(Jesus christ, in two hours, she bitched about having to go first and she bitched over the meaning of "denounce" vs "reject." No thanks to at least 4 more years of that.)

I thought it was rather curious as well. The adage is "ladies first."

Unfortunately I missed the debate entirely. From what I've read she also pulled the woman card. Something similar to her being a candidate of change because she was a woman and that was different. Feel free to correct me where I've been misinformed, or provide details.

Tim Russert said afterwards that he looked it up, and she has been asked 6 out of 10 first. That's one question away from 50/50, so she's just blowing smoke as usual.

Osama keeps getting these cake-walk campaigns.

Alan Keyes gives him no trouble for the senate race. He doesn't have to do much more than give platitude speeches and sit back while Hillary self-destructs.

And on the horizon, he faces a GOP candidate who has little support from the base of his own party.

When does Barack have to squirm?

Osama? wow, clever

Anyway... Hillary was very vocal about how she REJECTED the support of anti-semites during her campaign in New York... so much that she made Barack Obama not only DENOUNCE, but DENOUNCE AND REJECT Farrakhan's support!!!

words from a friend of mine:

"i don't think that there's anything wrong with an endorsemen from farrakhan

we're free to endorse whoever we want to endorse, and Obama should not be faulted because he was endorsed by a leader who represents some radical fringe values

if anything, I think that it's positive that people like Farrakhan can support a presidential candidate who isn't crazy"

Anyway, back to Hillary... I seem to recall her getting an official endorsement from ANN COULTER - an anti-semitic disease that's been plagueing conservatives years.

here is her official endorsement:

She has a history of being anti-semitic... here's a small sample:

Hillary, I haven't heard you reject OR denounce this.

WHAT SAY YOU

"The Clintons Just Won't Learn
A Commentary by Dick Morris
Wednesday, February 27, 2008

Whether one likes, dislikes, loves, hates, admires, fears, despises, or envies them, every Clinton watcher has this in common: They are dumbfounded both by the incompetence with which Hillary has run for president and her intransigence at sticking to a failed message. In a demonstration of inability and inflexibility reminiscent of her healthcare debacle of 1993-94, Mrs. Clinton seems destined to fulfill Voltaire’s description of the Bourbon kings of France: “They learn nothing. They forget nothing.”

Even now, with her back against the wall, fighting for her political career, Hillary, presumably with Bill’s acquiescence, insists on making the same mistakes that landed her in the soup. No new tactics, no new strategy, no new message emerges.

Incredibly, both Clintons are harping, once more, on the theme of experience to carry the day. No matter that it hasn’t worked since before Iowa; they repeat the same mantra endlessly — that Hillary can “hit the ground running” on “Day One.” Will they ever realize that voters grasp two essential facts:

(a) That Hillary’s experience is derivative of Bill’s and her claims to his achievements are largely invented and spurious, and

(b) That the real edge she has in experience is her ability to repeat the strategies, tactics, message, fundraising models and campaign style of the 1990s, something modern voters reject emphatically?
Why, after losing 24 states, do Hillary and Bill fail to get these messages? Are they saving up these insights for their memoirs?

And why do the Clintons persist in running a negative campaign even when they can’t find anything to be negative about? Alienating voters with their abrasive attacks without attracting them with their content, they throw pitty-pat punches accusing Obama one day of plagiarism for borrowing speech lines from his close and consenting friend and the next day for accurately describing Hillary’s healthcare plan as requiring sanctions to make those who do not wish to sign up do so against their will (albeit for policies Mrs. Clinton deems to be “affordable”).

If you are going to pay the price of going negative, throw real punches. Hit Obama with big negatives. You take the backlash for going negative in order to pass the lethal message on to the voters. But if you don’t have any negatives to throw and your detectives have, indeed, come up empty, then stop trying to go negative. Stop alienating people to no purpose.

But as obvious as these observations are, they seem to be lost on Bill and Hillary and the geniuses who are running her campaign. Despite defeat after defeat, we still hear about experience and still get a daily dose of so-what attacks on Obama.

The deeper reality of this campaign is that Obama has shown, by his incredible skill in the way he is waging it, an ability to handle himself and a talent for the demands of center stage that show, experienced or not, he is better able to be president than the inept Hillary.

We are watching a grim re-enactment of all of the character traits that led Hillary to decompose in the healthcare debate of her husband’s first term. The blind reliance on a guru-delivered strategy, the religious insistence on following the same rhetorical line even when it obviously isn’t working, the inflexibility in adapting to one’s opposition, and the inability to formulate new strategies or to improvise tactics when her pre-conceptions are found to be so obviously faulty — this is Hillary at her worst.

As citizens, we are entitled to watch Obama’s skill, leadership style, and savvy sophistication and contrast it with Hillary’s doctrinaire insistence on approaches that aren’t working and to conclude that Hillary would be a disaster as president and that Obama would be pretty good. We can, at least, conclude that the same tenacity that led Johnson into Vietnam and may be inducing Bush to risk his party, his reputation and the attitudes of a generation in Iraq may be abundantly present in Hillary.

But we are driven to wonder: Does Hillary’s rigidity stem from a false conviction or from an absence of sufficient imagination and creativity to formulate an alternative course?

Dick Morris, a Fox News Analyst and author of several books, is a former advisor to Senator Trent Lott (R-Miss) and President Bill Clinto"

^ you do realize that Dick Morris has made a career out of bashing the Clintons ever since they kicked him to the curb 10+ years ago right?

You may as well offer Shawn Hannity's opinion on Hillary as credible commentary (Morris is a frequent guest on his show and other fox programs). You know, dig up those old hack rumors about Hillary killing Vince Foster, being a lesbian, etc. etc.

^Sure enough. Both camps are in denial mode after seeing the public/party reaction.

The article also says that one campaign was pushing the issue a lot more than the other. Probably just a bias in reporting, but I'd put my money on the camp that hasn't done well in caucuses as the one that would be most interested in seeking legal action.

Naturally, but I can't think they'd actually seriously consider it. I mean, as much as Hillary has the image of a self-serving bitch, I don't think she'd drag the whole party down with her, though she'd definitely push everything to their limits.
