Quote :
"I am staunchly opposed to polygamy in our society. That doesn't make me a bigot"

never said it did

you're a bigot because you assume that anyone who practices polygamy is likely to be abusive to women

when in fact,
Quote :
"women's rights have no more to do with polygamy than they do with monogamy"

some people may experience abuse in monogamous marriages, and some in polygamist ones

but you can't know that abuse is present, or even likely to be present, simply based on a marriage being plural

that sir, is what makes you a bigot

"...in the news more than anything else on the subject?"

wow

ya know, not long ago, all you heard on the news about gays was that they were sick or evil

and not long before that, all you heard on the news about blacks, was that they were inferior or violent

the fact that you cite the mainstream media as evidence to support your bigotry is fucking laughable

are you really that dumb?

"Thanks Ace"

for what?

jim bob and michelle duggar aren't polygamists

what's the clown car vagina joke got to do with it?

omg, multiple wives is like a fairy tale. And yeah, all your double spaced arguments pretty much come down to trying to be cool. Polygamy is a horrible thing for society.

^those are girlfriends, not wives

anyone can have multiple gfs/bfs, that's not what I'm talking about

polygamy is serious, it's family, it's commitment, not just fun and sex

but yeah,

keep up the ad hominem

and the bigotry

and the repeated suggesting that polygamy only means polygyny

it makes you look smart

I think polygamy should be legal.

It may be bad for society and women, but it's a personal choice that I don't see catching on. So if a couple folks wanna take their polyamory to the next level, we should let them.

Shit, one mom stays home with the kids while the other mom and dad go to work...not necessarily the worst family situation in the world.

^
I'm glad we can agree on that

but like I said before

it is quite wrong to suggest that polygamy only means polygyny

say what you mean

if you think polygyny is bad for women, fine

but polygamy includes polygyny, polyandry, and group marriage

ok?

not just "multiple wives"

here, I'll fix what you posted

^I know that there are other configurations that will arise.

But we also know that, if polygamy is legalized, most of what we'll see is polygyny.

I won't be blind to that, and I'll make hypothetical situations using whatever configuartion pleases me.
