Wow, says he chose OSU over Michigan because he has a better chance to go to the NFL as a QB for OSU. Really?? Based on what? As I recall OSU has never had a successful NFL QB and Michigan has one of the best NFL QBs to ever play the game currently in the NFL. Not that either schools are known for their NFL QBs. Seems if he was that worried, he would have chosen an SEC or Pac 10 school over a Big Ten school. 3/19/2008 11:33:20 PM |

I'm still waiting to see the kid throw a pass. Every highlight i've seen of him is a scramble 3/20/2008 12:05:57 AM |

Which is why it seems he'd fit in well with Oregon. I'm not going to spend much time analyzing the thoughts of an 18 year old kid though. 3/20/2008 7:18:58 AM |

Brady was also a benchwarmer for his first two years at UM, and was coached by Lloyd Carr. I dont know how many NFL QBs Rich Rodriguez has coached in his career, but that mightve weighed into the decision.3/20/2008 9:17:19 AM |

I really hope this isn't true. Wanting to cut lose a legendary coach so you can bring in any prospect is stupid.3/25/2008 7:44:33 AM |

^exactly. I think we all remember how well Ronald Curry, Chris Rix and Ron Powlus turned out at QB. 3/25/2008 9:47:22 AM |

^^That quote is about the stupidest thing I have read lately. If the trustees are pissed, the trustees are retarded. Anyone remember Paterno making trouble makers clean the stadium on Sundays last year? 3/25/2008 9:57:18 AM |

^he actually made the whole team clean the stadium, not just the ones who got in trouble. 3/25/2008 10:05:18 AM |

^^Yep. The trustees are retarded if they'd give up the discipline he has instilled for "possible" stars. 3/25/2008 10:25:48 AM |

The following excerpt was in the Pittsburh Post Gazette
Quote : | "Joe Paterno, in the final year of his latest contract, is on the verge of overstaying his welcome. By all accounts, Penn State wants him to come to some decision about when he will retire. It's a fair request, considering his age, but one, as near as can be determined, Paterno wants no part of doing. There's another issue in this discussion: Competence. And we're not talking about Paterno's won-loss record. We're talking about his abdication of the day-to-day operations of the football program. Paterno says he gets more work done at home. Recruiting is another area of concern. As near as can be determined, Paterno made one recruiting visit this year. No one at Penn State, not even the most maverick board of trustees member, wants to push Paterno out the door tomorrow. He will coach in 2008 and, if he wants, '09. But there is a line being drawn after that point, and understandably so." |
Wow, the board may have a point here. I realize he's a legend and everything, but going on one recruiting trip is unacceptable.3/26/2008 9:50:12 AM |

Not sure of the scholarship situation there, but I know that PSU had the fewest number of recruits in at least the top 100 schools by ranking. That's crazy if he really only made one trip... 3/26/2008 9:57:22 AM |
