i kind of know what you mean...I was having a conversation with a die-hard catholic girl and we started to talk about this one chick who i ended up calling a slut because i knew a few guys she slept with

what i was expecting her to say was something along the line of, "oh, thats funny, i wouldn't expect that from her"

sure she does...everyone has the RIGHT to judge others by their own set of morals...have you never seen that show taboo? i mean, you might think rape and murder are wrong, but that's by your set of personal morals (i would agree with you, of course)

the truth of the matter is that:

1.) you believe in a higher power and that the morals and guidelines set by the higher power are applied to everyone, regardless of each person's individual faith or

2.) you don't believe in any higher power in which case, how can you possibly deem your morals better than anothers? by what standard are you applying your viewpoint

the only thing that anyone can do is choose not to CARE about how others have judged them

^^^ i'm really not trying to come off as a douche (though i'm very good at it)...i just think that since you can't control what people think about you or your personal choices, what good does it do to get indignant about it?

it's just as "wrong" to say "you can't judge me!" as it is for them to say "i'm judging you!"

so, if that's the case, then there's no point in worrying about the finer points - save the friendship by addressing the problem (something like "i'm sorry we disagree...i value our friendship too much to let a difference in philosophy ruin it") and truly try not to let the difference get in the way

that's not woman law....silent treatment is never woman law in situations like this

woman law, in this situation, mandates that she get pissed at you for calling her out and completely deny that you are right...since she's so religious she probably won't call you a bastard or an asshole...but she'll may call you a heartless meanie or something...followed by "i'm never talking to you again"...

give is a day and a half....if you haven't done the pussy thing and tried to get in touch with her she'll be texting or calling or messaging or wall posting or something...maybe all of the above...to say you suck even more for not talking to her for a day...or to ask if you want to hang out tomorrow night...

yea. i didnt read anything in this thread. but i can empathize. my ex girlfriend (2 years) sent me a email this morning. basically ripping me to shreads, stating how i was a waste of time etc. i ended the relationship almost a year ago, but still have respect for her, and wanted to try and be decent friends.

regardless, i am sad. i just responded that i will always remember her laughing.

Next time she tries to guilt you/make you feel bad just let her know you think her ideals are outdated and repressed. Or stop talking to Christains.
