I think it's orginial design was made so that it could carry the equipment for the soldiers, like it can carry a huge amount of weight. They said that would be useful so that in a critical situation the soldier doesn't have to worry about his load, or carrying extra weight. That's why it's made to be able to walk on the same surfaces that humans have to walk on.

good idea. i'd like to see sniper versions as well

there's nothing more demoralizing than knowing your buddy just got capped by sniper 1000 yards away and you have no idea what direction it's coming from.

and then to top it off, the guy that shot your friend just walked away to find a new spot and isn't even human...
