kickoff for R/W game has been set for 1pm... plenty of time to sleep in and get yer drink on
also even though russell wilson has been touted as a scrambling QB -he will never be in a TOB/Bible offense. They wont use a mobile QB in their old-fashioned set. It will only be a plus that he can move quickly out of the pocket if (and when?) our OL breaks down... 4/12/2008 6:50:34 PM |

how do you know? have you ever seen him play? give the guy a chance to run the offense before you say he doesn't fit into the system 4/12/2008 7:01:21 PM |

i meant he would never be allowed to play like a fullblown scrambler if TOB/Bible decide he is going to be our guy, not that he doesent fit. His numbers thus far are better than Burke or Beck... 4/12/2008 7:13:30 PM |

^^wow. Reading comprehension would help.
and ^rumor was that Bible visited Mizzou to study the spread a little. If that's true, might help Wilson's case a bit.

maybe wilson can play tebow and glennon can play chris leak
but every time i wonder if we will take advantage of our asymmetric talent situation by running a creative scheme we end up with a pro-style offense

^^yeah, i read the post and my comprehension is pretty good. my point was that everyone assumes he's a pure scrambler when he hasn't been given a chance to be a pocket passer that bible's system craves. that's why i said to give the guy a chance to run the offense before you cast him aside. 4/12/2008 7:27:25 PM |

Mizzou runs a pass-happy version of the spread, scrambling when it is there...not the Florida/WVU version. 4/12/2008 7:46:49 PM |

i was just referring to the qb platoon style. mizzou only has one very good, very experienced qb. we've got two guys with no experience. 4/12/2008 7:51:59 PM |

man our new qb has a reggie bush esque video on youtube i saw this mourning and WOW glad he redshirted the next four years should be better than rivers. hopefully we can get some chuck style defense going. only thing is his size but i dont care cuz you can just tell the dude has that natural ability to make shit happen. he can scramble all around and still throw 50 yards on a dime under pressure. plus hes pretty quick and has moves. 4/12/2008 8:00:04 PM |

Yeah, clearly this guy will be better than Rivers based on a youtube vidoe. I mean Phil was only the best QB in ACC history... 4/12/2008 8:03:28 PM |

isn't really saying a lot. gator bowl? tangerine bowl?
we don't have to have a better qb to have a better time than when rivers was here. we just need balance and discipline which is something we've never had at the same time.4/12/2008 8:27:13 PM |

lost in all this talk is the fact that at least by the beginning of 09-10 season Mike Glennon will be our starting QB.... I mean the guy is such a high pedigree he has got to rise quickly...
I would love to see Wilson QB us this year, especially since he is probably going to get MLB money before too long... 4/13/2008 2:36:29 PM |

I think that if TOB likes what he sees with Wilson then Glennon will redshirt for sure. If Wilson has a great season then he will surely preserve the starting role -which would mean we only get 2-3 yrs of Glennon....
but ya know that would mean we actually have a QB that is worth a shit and I havent seen that since ye olden days....
its great that we have depth at RB this year, but why does that mean they seem to get injured more than normal??? 4/14/2008 5:51:19 PM |

well no offense, but parents shouldn't teach their kids to want to get autorgraphs from guys just because they are athletic. these guys aren't superstars and nobody on our team will be barry sanders so the autographs won't be worth a lot. most of them will be going pro in something other than sports. 4/14/2008 6:50:32 PM |

Quote : | ""It’s night and day. I think everything in our program is way ahead of where we were a year ago,” O’Brien said. “We talked last year, it took us until our 13th or 14th practice before we got through a whole script of the practice. That started the first practice this spring.”
Last season, every player on the roster was undergoing their first practices with new coaches. But with that entire staff intact coming back with the same system in place, O’Brien said his team has a better understanding of what’s expected and what it’s supposed to do.
“We’re out of the huddle, we’re at the line of scrimmage, the ball’s being snapped, we’re heading in the right direction, we’re lined up on defense,” O’Brien said. “We’re starting playing faster on both sides of the ball so those things become important because they’re cumulative, they all add up.”" |

I'm glad they aren't signing autographs. Maybe TOB let them know that they need to win something before they're worth an autograph.
I'm tired of athletes coming in thinking they're God's gift to NC State sports. Finally we have a coach who understands that we have to WIN before we can boast 4/17/2008 7:19:23 AM |

I'll take it to the next level with that. No fireworks or boom-boom intro music until we win. The better we get the more stuff you can add. If we start loosing you can take more away. Start out with the players running out on the field and the band playing. Work up to F-22 fly-bys, laser lights, explosions and smoke. 4/17/2008 8:06:35 AM |

TOB says you better fill this damn stadium up for the Red & White Game! We need you Pack Nation to help us impress the recruits and get them to commit.
Seriously though if you are in the Triangle area do your part and go to the Red & White game. There's only so much we can do that can affect the outcome of recruiting. This is one of them. 4/17/2008 8:54:49 AM |
