i mean, the $200 was like a refundable deposit for personal entertainment @ the expense of some dumb broad's suffering.

some bullshit about being behind on bills. honestly, as tight as we were back in highschool, if she had just shot it to me straight i probably would've [hesitantly] loaned her the money.

Don't waste your time. she will have to pay you the 200 and that is it. Nothing on the record. Just let it go or harrass her for the money...but since you got the money back don't even worry about it. It is a couple of hours you can have back to yourself once a month as it continuously gets continued. Like I said leave it be.

"that would be a total douchebag move.

why would you waste the cops time and tie up the courts with yet another stupid case? she's offering to pay you back.... that's obviously the best solution as far as money is concerned. and there's not gonna be any lesson learned. just taking cops off of real cases..."

LOL dumbest post ever. This is a serious crime. Just because she offered to pay him back NOW doesn't mean she shouldn't get prosecuted. Man you druggies sure do have a skewed perspective.

So by your logic, if i rob a bank because i needed the money then offer to pay the bank back then that should be enough and the bank shouldn't press charges? lol...

This is a real case...people make a living off of shit like this.

It pisses me off that fraud is treated so lightly compared to victimless crimes like drug use. I would much rather have check forgers, scammers and identity thieves filling our prisons than potheads or crack whores.

Update:

So this chic had gone MIA, changed her phone #, moved out of Cameron Village, yadda yadda yadda. The police can't find her, I contacted her via IM, pretending to be another person we went to school with and she tells me her life story. I've got all her info, her new job, her new place, her new cell #. They're gonna pick up her up in the middle of the business day either tomorrow or next week, I may take my lunch break to go watch, this shit's gonna be hilarious.

Sometimes you have to get the authorities involved. I'm usually one for handling shit yourself...but this bitch is obviously trifling and willing to do anything she can to avoid getting caught/paying back the money.

Some people just need to be threatened and/or taught a lesson.

I guess I should also add, that she was supposed to call me on friday almost 2 weeks ago to make payment arrangements, and she failed to do so. Her words were actually, 'if i don't have it back to you by Friday, proceed as you wish.'

haha looks like the hand was for a "high-five" --

and i'm not sure that it's exactly illegal... but i do know from personal experience as a "state's witness" (saw someone use similar cyber means to get info to find someone in person) that judges don't like it when you pretend to be someone else on an instant messenger in order to get someones otherwise private information. doesn't matter the reason, i think you're "supposed" to leave that up to private investigators and bondsmen/warrant squads/police/etc...

plus it sounds like he already had a warrant issued and the cops were gonna serve it, then he pretended to be someone else to get info, then he gave her 2 weeks before he called the cops

whole thing just sounds fishy. and i know, its not any of my business, i guess. but he did put it up on tww for us to enjoy so i will make my comments!

nah, school and work, haven't been fucking the the Tdub much here lately. The detective assigned actually commended me for making their job easier, he also called me a couple of weeks ago to remind me to pick up a copy of slammer mag to see her mug shot, quite funny business indeed. Anyway, I'm not worried a/b the legality of the situation, she's not even aware that it was me she gave the information to, I know this because I signed on to screen name I created to impersonate our classmate and she messaged me instantly with 'hey I was wondering what happened to you, just wanted to let you know that my # changed and yadda yadda yadda." The probable cause hearing was a/b a little more than a week ago, I'll keep you kids posted on the outcome.

Why were you trying to meet her for a payment?

If you'd taken any money from her, you and she would be guilty of ripping off the bank.

You already got your money back.

I wasn't in the market to get any money from her in an attempt to defraud the bank. Returning the stolen money was something she attempted to do when she suspected there was about to be a huge foot in her ass compliments of the criminal justice system; even when I was remotely considering the concept of accepting her offer (before I called the cops) she flaked on me. I may have mentioned it in an earlier post, but her words were 'if I don't have it back to you by X date @ 1PM, then do as you wish.'
