I finally got my nitro tc3 all put together and drove it today. Weeeeeeee

I think I'm going to sell my f1 car because parts are being discontinued left and right. I can get as much as I bought it for on ebay anyway.

I haven't been to Fuquay on Friday nights in about 7 weeks now but if its clear this Friday I will most likely go. Need to get the car(s) out.

haha, that's straight. My 1/8 scale has a stripped steering servo, so the NTC3 is the only car I have running right now.

well i had to take the radio out of the tc4 for the ntc3. thats all. just the receiver.

I'm going to remove the ESC and receiver out of my f1 car before I sell it. I just don't want to crash it again and not be able to get parts. and tires for it are expensive too. I could use touring tires but they don't look right

I am always taking parts of off different cars to get one or two to work.

Sounds like the track in Durham is going to race on Saturdays instead of Sundays, which means I can race now.

Here are some pics from practicing today

Nice! I'm tryin to get rid of my TC4's, so I might come out there one day and set up a for sale table, lol.

I actually did the exact same thing about 4 years ago when I sold all of my offroad stuff.

I've had previous experience with rc cars both on/off road. I wouldn't call myself a novice in this field; I'd say my skills are in the intermediate level. I'm looking for a "street" RC to help me get back into this. I'd prefer something electric as I don't want to have to deal with all the maintenance involved with gas just yet.

I was looking at a Traxxasmt 4-Tec. Any other suggestions? I wouldn't mind building the car myself either. That was just one recommended to me.

^dude, i've got 2 TC4's that'd be great for you to get started back with.

I've got pretty much all electronics you'd need for it too. (FM radio, Novak Cyclone speed control, batteries, chargers, power supplies, battery dischargers/equalizers, etc.)

Check out my post in the earlier part of this thread and let me know if anything sounds appealing.

I'd cut you a good deal.

I also have an interest in R/C boats, and I have an electric that I frequently run on Lake Johnson. Yes, electrics are allowed -- gas-powered stuff isn't, though. Like cheerwhiner said in an earlier thread, Lake Wheeler is a much better choice for gas-powered boats.

IcedFire: The Triangle Model Yacht Club (http://www.trianglemyc.org) sails just about every Saturday morning at Lake Johndson. I've talked to some of those guys -- they're good, friendly people. But if you're into anything other than sailing, I'm not aware of any clubs in the area, and I've done some pretty exhaustive searching to find one. I've got an email in with TMYC to see if they know of any, but assuming they don't (and that they aren't interested in starting a non-sailing division), I'm very likely about to pull the trigger on forming a club. Anyone interested, shoot me a PM or reply here.

one of the complaints of a casual on-looker is that 1/10 electric racing looks boring. The bodies are all the same and based on Mazda 6 and Dodge Stratus cars. You basically have and have-nots as well, so there is a disparity in the action. Kinda like F1 some feel.

So now there is a Vintage Trans-Am series! Check this out: http://www.usvintagetransam.com/

JULY 13th at Durham

I will be running the Vintage Trans Am. I just made 2 4 cell battery packs using cells from 2 6 cell packs. Some cells were not working but I have 9, so I got a spare........add to a 6 to make a 7 cell pack?

anyway I will be sure to have off of work, make it a vacation day may as well.

This seems to be the best class for not having to buy tires and shit over and over. I have read a set of tires can last like 20 runs!

well there are only about 6 or so bodies that are 'legal' for this class. I'm really excited. I just need to buy a body and tires since I've made some battery packs. Pay attention to gearing too.

Tomorrow (Saturday) I could go to Durham for a while. I need to test out my stuff if I'm going to race so it wouldn't be a bad idea. I plan on running some later this year. The Carolina Touring Series will return to Durham in August, and I want a trophy dammit!

picked up a Shelby gt 350 body to run the vintage trans am class. Fuquay Hobby Shop had it sitting there so I painted it up. Didn't have tires need to order. That is all I need now. All the stuff I am putting on ebay will be linked on this thread too.

well need to order some small parts and I'll be ready.

so pics coming tomorrow.

uh wow sorry. I know I have met you before but this guy had a nitro tc3 with a clutch problem but had another one and I thought he was you........sorry about that

but as you CAN see from the pics big turnouts. with my schedule making it nearly impossible to 'race' I am just not going to waste $$ on racing stuff and just run down at Fuquay on Friday nights. In fact I am putting some 7 cell packs together for my electric motors to run off of. Cheaper than going lipo right now. Plus I can run nitro at fuquay - because nobody races nitro anymore,
its nice to be able to drive it somewhere in a somewhat controlled environment. I have 2 nitro tc3s now and finally somewhere to run.

Plenty of food in walking distance, Wendy's, Starbuck's, and Taco Bell all right there. We get a big crowd of spectators too. Its actually what I would want for a real race track but that location would be impossible to set up during a Saturday while Tractor Supply Co is open. Otto wants to start an offroad track but all of his customers have on road stuff to run Friday nights with!

sorry about that mistaken case of identity

Ahahaha..torque...

I'm pretty sure i've got enough torque to make me shit my britches.

But yeah, I'm picking it up this week (the previous owner's doing a little work to it before I buy it...new chain, sprocket, adding adjustable Vortex pegs, new brake/clutch levers, etc.)

Once I get it and get it titled and insured, I'll definitely give you a holler.
