Quote : | "In North Carolina, unaffiliated voters are permitted to vote in the Democratic primary.
However, if an unaffiliated voter chooses to vote in the Democratic primary, he or she cannot vote in a Republican runoff (or second primary). Similarly, an unaffiliated voter who votes in a Republican primary cannot vote in a Democratic runoff." |
You may still consider changing your voter reg, as stated above, to be sure. Although only unaffiliated & Dems can vote in the Dem primary.4/1/2008 4:19:42 PM |

Chief Strategist of Clinton Campaign Steps Down
Quote : | "ALBUQUERQUE — Mark Penn, the architect of much of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential campaign, has been replaced as the campaign's chief strategist in the wake of revelations that he lobbied on behalf of a trade treaty with Colombia that Mrs. Clinton opposes.
Mr. Penn, who has been associated with Mrs. Clinton and former President Bill Clinton for a dozen years, has come under withering criticism for continuing to consult with clients as chief executive of Burson-Marsteller, the international lobbying and public relations firm.
He has also been held responsible for the flawed electoral strategy considered partly responsible for Mrs. Clinton's difficult political position, trailing Senator Barack Obama by more than a hundred delegates and with a very narrow path to winning the Democratic nomination.
In a terse statement, Maggie Williams, Mrs. Clinton's campaign manager, said, 'After the events of the last few days, Mark Penn has asked to give up his role as chief strategist of the Clinton campaign.'" |

some blog last night said that officials from both camps had said that clinton had asked about a vp slot and obama politely refused.
and then the same blog posted this 15 mins ago:
Quote : | "CNN reported this morning that there are some kind of "talks" taking place between the Obama and Clinton campaigns about the possibility that she might leave the race and become veep.
The network claimed that the Clinton camp was pushing three "scenarios" it was envisioning for the future.
Well, I've just spoken to both campaigns about this. And their denials couldn't be more adamant.
Here's what Hillary spokesperson Howard Wolfson sent me:
1) There have been no discussions with the Obama campaign
2) The only scenario being discussed by this campaign is Senator Clinton's nomination as President
3) The report is 100% false
And here is what Obama spokesperson Bill Burton said:
This is something that I agree with Howard on 100%.
If I didn't know better, I'd say those sound like denials..." |

well the good thing is if clinton somehow gets the nomination she basically has to put obama on the ticket...then when the country is the shit obama gets elected...he'll still be young too 5/23/2008 5:37:12 PM |

Thats a big step for her considering that a couple of months ago when she was losing, she was willing to let Obama be her VP. Maybe in November she will concede the nomination to Obama. 6/4/2008 10:57:52 AM |

Quote : | "Instead she left her supporters empty, Obama's angry, and party leaders trashing her. She said she was stepping back to think about her options. She is waiting to figure out how she would "use" her 18 million voters.
But not my vote. I will enthusiastically support Barack Obama's campaign. Because I am not a bargaining chip. I am a Democrat." |
basically this hillary supporter is upset that she didn't concede in the past week and thinks that if she doesn't in the next couple days, it will horribly tarnish her reputation/legacy.6/4/2008 1:29:45 PM |

it's a synopsis of an article i linked.
and it tangentially has to do with clinton hanging obama's VP slot as a price for her to concede. 6/4/2008 1:32:21 PM |

Quote : | "The term is educated terp. Meaning you actually LOOK at what some idiot is proposing and question it.
Just do a quick google, geez, research is SO hard these days.
obama will spend an EXTRA 800B in his 4 years. SO he is adding around 200B a year.
A $65 billion-a-year health plan $15 billion in green energy spending $85 billion in tax cuts and credits A $25 billion-a-year increase in foreign aid $18 billion a year in education spending $3.5 billion for a national service plan
Of which his healthcare is the biggest lowball ive seen since the iraq war cost.
And your tax on the "rich" will raise about 40B a year. Yeah, how "smart" of me to assume others will have to pay too. But I guess in your world its ok to treat people differently anyway, or at least those over 200k a year. Why is that?" |
don't forget the huge cut in iraq war spending
And as for treating people differently, republicans are the kings when it comes to that6/4/2008 5:14:16 PM |
