it could get higher though. if he does what shane battier did and shoots 1000 threes per day and comes out and leads the ACC in three point percentage and shows he can extend his range, then he'll be a first rounder. for him to play in the nba he has to show a more diverse skill set and i think he's smart enough to realize that.

that said i wish he would have gone.

on a serious note, if Ellington and Lawson both stay in the draft, i just can't see UNC winning a title with Frasor (coming off a knee injury) and freshman Larry Drew running the show. their starting lineup will be

Pretty much... plus, like I said, next years draft is going to be TERRIBLE compared to this years. That's why Thabeet is going to stay one more year too. He could be a mid to late first rounder this year, but next year, as he continues to improve, he'll likely be Top 10, maybe even Top 5...

well hes had a better first two and a half years of his career, he's matched may's last half of the season/ncaa tourny run in some games but hasn't really put a stretch like taht together

Hansbrough was the first, second, third, and fourth scoring option his freshman year.

May was coached by Doh his freshman year.

May was a better defender than Hansbrough is, plus he actually earned most of his points, rather than 50% being free throws from running people over.

May didn't run over people as much as Sacko T but he did his own share of bull-in-a-china-shop stuff...plus his rebound numbers were inflated by his layup misses and subsequent offensive rebounds...but May did/does have really really good hands...if Hickson had his hands, oh boy

Both are projected 1st round in most mock drafts, I think that warrants leaving. Guaranteed contract=millions of dollars, you gotta take the cash when it is there and with Lawson having some injury problems in the past he doesnt want to risk it. That is why he didnt want to come back to early from the ankle injury bc he didnt want to make it worse and risk his draft stock
