well i am not affiliated with them, but honest to god, we want to help people. we want to catch criminals in action, we want to stop violent crime but criminals always have the advantage of picking the time n place. we really do try, i wish people knew this. i think its safe to say any cop would rather bust an armed robber than a 19 year old drinking a PBR.

you are right but this still does not change the fact that when you roll 6 cop cars deep to break up that keg party on brent road this is a diversion of manpower that could be used for patrolling or quickly respond to this kind of incident to increase the chance of catching the suspect.

Also; police have no problem using plain clothes officers to catch that 19 yr old freshman sneaking in a beer bong. Why not have plain clothes police walking around the street then when Tyronne busts out the bush to mug them he'll get a nice surprise when he's face down in the concrete getting ready to be hauled off to jail.

Yeah I dont know if the officer knew what he was talking about, but a campus police officer said pepper spray wasnt allowed on campus...that seems like an extremely stupid rule

Raleigh police target repeat robbers and 'no snitch' street code

A convenience store manager was shot and killed April 10 during an early morning robbery attempt. No one has been arrested in the case. Dolan cites several reasons for the increase and said he has plans to combat it. 'We get very concerned when we see that the people we're arresting are repeat offenders,' the chief said. Dolan said he worries that the 'no snitch' attitude on the streets contributes to repeat offenders. He encouraged everyone in the city to report crime and to help police to identify suspects. 'By not telling, by not calling Crime Stoppers, they are aiding and abetting these individuals,' he said. The department is launching an initiative to improve security at convenience stores, which have been targeted in many of the robberies. The city also is trying to hire additional officers to put pressure on the robbers. The police force has 70 openings for officers. 'If I can fill more of those vacant positions it would certainly have an impact,' Dolan said. He promised that the training and enforcement plans will pay off. 'I believe strongly that we are going to see a dramatic decrease because of the men and women in this department,' he said."
