yeah, i checked the tracker and it finally showed up with the correct amount, said the check should be mailed on the 30th

seems like some people are receiving their paper checks earlier. i guess i could, as the website says it will be mailed by, not necessarily mailed on...who knows. don't know what i want to do with it yet.

i filed by mail but did direct deposit for my refund. So they direct deposited my stimulus check.

I filed in the 2nd week of April, but had to pay so I didn't provide any deposit info. According to the website, a paper check should have gone out by Friday.

i had the correct address on my return (i got my tax return just fine, and the letter that was saying that i was going to get a stimulus to the same address) yet for some reason, the post office returned my stimulus check.

so i waited on hold for 42 minutes with them and changed my address. too bad it'll only take another 3 weeks to get it out to the new address.

guess i should be more careful on making sure i file with direct deposit next time.

so didn't they bill this like an "advance" on our taxes next year or something? eg if you would have received a $2000 refund now you'll only get $1400?

or was it truly a "gift" that won't affect 2008 taxes at all. will we have to pay taxes on it?

my fiance and i both did direct deposit, but the IRS decided to mail us checks. she got a letter like 2 weeks ago saying she'd have her money soon (not the letter they sent a couple months ago) and then she got the check in the mail last week. she was in the first group by SS#. i got the same letter last week so i expect my check very soon, the IRS website lists wednesday so i expect it fri-mon.

I've owed money in '07 and '08 (independent contractor biz), but always paid everything in on time.

My junk was supposed to get mailed on May 23rd & I've still got nothing. $20 says it's in the mailbox of the address listed on my 2007 tax forms, which is not where I live now. Anyone else curious about the same?

I imagine very few others are in this situation, but if you're married and have a child, and only got $1200, the extra $300 is on its way.
